Here are some dates/locations for mobile mammograms

Earlier this year, while scrolling through social media, Lindsey came across information about Atrium Health Navicent’s mobile mammography coach. The discovery proved to be life-saving.

Lindsey took advantage of the opportunity to receive a mammogram aboard Atrium Health Navicent’s mobile mammography coach in April, just minutes from her home in Cochran. Within a day, she received her screening results, which revealed abnormalities.

She underwent additional imaging at Atrium Health Navicent The Breast Center, where a radiologist recommended a breast biopsy. The results confirmed Ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS). In July, Lindsey had a bilateral mastectomy performed by Dr. Arnold Conforti, a surgical oncologist with Atrium Health Navicent. Today, she is cancer-free.

“The care from top to bottom, from the physicians to the nutritional staff when I had my inpatient stay with my surgery, to environmental services, everybody has been wonderful,” Lindsey says.

She shares that she feels “very blessed and very thankful” for not delaying her mammogram—believing that had she waited, her outcome might have been very different.

Since her recovery, Lindsey has become a passionate advocate for women to get their mammograms and is actively helping spread the word about the mobile mammography coach.

“I’ve been healthy my whole life,” she said. “If I hadn’t gotten the mammogram done, I wouldn’t have known.”
