We were delighted to give medical students from summer programs at the Georgia Rural Health Innovation Center Mercer University School of Medicine a tour of our new building! We plan to develop educational programs to train future Georgia doctors to care for adults with IDD.

Coming August 2025: The Mercer Center for IDD Care—a first-of-its-kind facility in Georgia offering comprehensive outpatient services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.​​

We will offer everything from primary care and dental services to behavioral health, therapy, imaging, pharmacy and more—all in one accessible, patient-centered location.

The facility will combine River Edge Behavioral Health’s short-term behavioral and crisis services with Mercer’s outpatient health care services under one roof.

Thank you to everyone who joined us this morning for our Open House event celebrating the brand new Mercer Center for IDD Care!​

Housed with the River Edge Behavioral Health Crisis Services and Diagnostic Center at 750 Hazel Street in Macon, this first-of-its-kind facility was made possible by the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities and will expand access to health care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.​ Learn more at mercerIDDcare.org.
