This is Kea 💜 Diagnosed with a rare form of epilepsy as a child, she faced years of testing, medication challenges, and uncertainty about her future. With the support of family and doctors, Kea pushed forward — graduating high school with a 4.0 GPA, undergoing successful epilepsy surgery at Valley Children’s Hospital, and building a life she once was told might not be possible.
Today, Kea works in healthcare supporting children and adults with disabilities, holds a driver’s license, and returns each year to Valley Children’s Hospital to encourage kids living with epilepsy.
Her message: never give up on your dreams — medicine and possibilities keep advancing.

Noah had his first seizure in 6th grade, just one week before COVID changed everything. Diagnosed in March 2020, he and his family faced uncertainty — but Noah kept moving forward.
With support from his school, he continued water polo and swimming, becoming an advocate for students with epilepsy. In 2022, focal seizures sidelined him from the pool, but he stayed connected by supporting his team.
In high school, Noah found a new passion in E-Sports and a strong circle of friends who support his journey. He’s traveled to Mexico, Italy, and Japan — and refuses to let epilepsy limit his future adventures.
After trying multiple medications, Noah is now 4 months seizure-free 💜
He continues to advocate so other kids with epilepsy know they can find joy and belonging too.

Valley Children’s Epilepsy Support Program is a proud member of Epilepsy Alliance America. 1 in 26 Americans will develop epilepsy in their lifetime. On January 26, we celebrate our epilepsy warriors and honor the strength, resilience, and full humanity of everyone living with epilepsy—today and everyday.

Whether you are a person with epilepsy, you love someone with epilepsy, you support someone with epilepsy, we’re here for you with tools and resources.

To recognize 1 in 26, we encourage anyone to share their story. We are asking for you to submit a photo along with a written story describing your journey and life with epilepsy.

DM or email us at epilepsysupport@valleychildrens.org to have your story highlighted on 1 in 26 day!

✨ We’re back! ✨

We’re so excited to welcome families back to our Epilepsy Support Program 💜

This space is all about connection, education, and support—because no family should navigate epilepsy alone.
We can’t wait to continue building community, sharing resources, and supporting you every step of the way. 💫

BIG NEWS!!! - FOR 2 days only!!!

This secret window of time (2 days… I guess, it’s not really a secret), has the opportunity to make a big impact on the success and ranking of book. A sincere thank you for being part of the Room for Friends launch team! We’re grateful to have you with us.

Here’s what to do today or tomorrow:

1. DOWNLOAD THE EBOOK (FOR FREE!) HERE: https://www.amazon.com/dp/1953771114

2. SCAN TO THE END OF THE EBOOK.

Your review will only count if you’ve read the book, so here’s my author hack… take 5 seconds to scan to the end in the ebook.

3. LEAVE A REVIEW

Add an honest review. Whether it’s a short, generic statement (“Awesome book”, “My daughter loved this!”) or ChatGPT generated, your contribution is important and meaningful to this mission. Thank you!

How your download/ review is important during this short 2-day window:

Amazon reviews (even just a few sentences) will help more parents, teachers, and healthcare professionals discover the book. It’s the best way for us to earn a fancy Amazon banner, like “ #1 New Release” or even “Best Seller” for books on Epilepsy. It shows us how much you love and support us.

With gratitude,
Author Susie Harder and Caitlin Epilepsy Alliance America Authorable
