Safety Tip of the Day:
Many families will try to extend the life of a car seat by modifying it in some way. These modifications can make the seat unsafe and can interfere with how it is meant to function. Nothing should be added or removed from the seat unless directed by the seat manufacturer. When in doubt,reach out to a child passenger safety technician in your area.

Fire Safety
-Install a fire extinguisher within reach on every floor, close to exits, and in the kitchen and garage. Include all locations where a fire could potentially start
-Check the gauge monthly to be sure it is pressurized
-Always call the fire department BEFORE you try and extinguish a fire yourself
-Replace fire extinguishers that are over 12 years old or after use

Today our Coalition participated in National Walk to School Day with .elementary Students learned the importance the walking and biking safely to school. We encourage all drivers to drive safely in school zones and to talk to your children about utilizing sidewalks and crosswalks.

🚲 DIFFERENCES IN E-BIKES
E-bikes and e-scooters are on the rise in popularity, and we want our parents to be aware of the regulations and safety requirements of these transportation tools. Did you know there are multiple classes of e-bikes that are all different from each other? From pedal assist and throttle to maximum speeds and licensing requirements, there's a lot to learn about the different types of e-bikes!

Parents, start the conversation with your students and make sure they know the rules of riding one of these electric vehicles so they can stay safe on the road. For more information and safety tips, check out our full Parent Bulletin on E-Bike Safety at cusd.com/parent-bulletin.

We create Parent Bulletins as a partnering effort to raise awareness and equip families with resources to help kids succeed. Who has the best Coalition? We do! (Not that we are biased 😉)

Seat Check Saturday 2025 was a success!!! 71 seats checked and 71 children safer. It was an amazing (and busy) day. We are grateful for each and every volunteer who made, technician, and participant. We are grateful to for sponsoring our event and to our lead agency for their continued support. We are so grateful for our partner agencies who help us in our injury prevention efforts.

Congratulations to the 18 new car seat technicians who completed course requirements today!!! We are so proud of you.

We want to send a special shout out to the parents who came@out today to make sure their children were safe. There is nothing more precious than your little ones and you will never regret the time you spent with us.
