Airports can be one of the hardest parts of travel for many.

Some airports offer sensory-friendly or rehearsal-style programs that allow families to:
• Practice security screening
• Walk through boarding routines
• Experience the environment without the pressure of an actual flight

Programs like TSA Cares and Wings for Autism are designed to help increase predictability and reduce stress before travel day.

Not every airport offers these programs, but knowing what exists can make planning feel a little more manageable.

Save this for later travel planning.

Rochester showed up in a big way.
Our Rochester, Minnesota team took the Polar Plunge and raised $4,909 for Special Olympics.
Cold water. Big hearts. Real impact.
So proud of this crew for jumping in and supporting an incredible cause.

Spring Forward is almost here. ⏰

That one hour shift can feel small, but for children with autism, even minor routine changes can impact sleep, regulation, and behavior.

A few simple ways to prepare:
• Shift bedtime and wake time 10 to 15 minutes earlier each day leading up to the change
• Keep your nighttime routine consistent
• Use blackout curtains if it is lighter at bedtime
• Expect a few days of adjustment

Most children adjust within a week. Consistency matters more than perfection.

March is Women’s History Month. 💙
All month long, our clinics will be exploring the history, leadership, and impact of women who have shaped our communities, our country, and our field.
From trailblazers in science and space, to influential women in behavior analysis, to autistic women who have made lasting contributions, we are creating space to learn, reflect, and celebrate.

We will also recognize:
• World Behavior Analysis Day on March 20
• Transgender Day of Visibility on March 31

At Caravel, this month is about honoring progress, recognizing resilience, and encouraging the next generation to see what is possible.
Here’s to the women who lead, advocate, discover, teach, and change lives every day.

Science Friday in Duluth was a hit!

Once a month, the team picks a simple science project and lets the kids dive in. In February, they made ice cream in a bag using ice and salt. Shake it long enough and the milk and sugar mixture actually freezes.

There was a lot of “Is it working yet?” A lot of shaking. And a lot of very serious taste-testing.

What we love most is how something this simple turns into so much more. Kids follow directions, take turns, try new textures, and stick with something until they see the result.

And then they get to eat it. Hands-on learning just works.

Across all our clinics, creativity has been in full swing all month. 🎨

In Kenosha, our clients created a colorful handprint project with a simple but powerful message: Love comes in different colors.

Each handprint is unique. Each child is unique. And every color belongs.
We also reflected on these words from Martin Luther King Jr.:
“Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into a friend.”

In our clinics, that looks like teaching kindness. Building understanding. Creating spaces where children with autism feel safe, valued, and celebrated for exactly who they are.

We are proud of the small hands and big hearts behind this project. 💙

Each year, our Kennewick clinic invites local firefighters and police officers to visit so children with autism can explore the trucks, meet first responders, and experience something new in a safe and supportive setting.

Families and siblings are invited too, which means lots of photos, lots of smiles, and some pretty unforgettable memories.

Community partnerships like this matter. They help children build comfort, familiarity, and confidence in everyday community interactions.

We love seeing our clinics bring learning to life.

Artificial intelligence (AI) has arrived in our industry and has a seat at the table of ABA organizations' practices. However, the responsibility of thoughtful adoption, transparency, and iterative monitoring remains ours. Today, our Chief Clinical Officer, Dr. Adam Hahs, will join colleagues in the field for a Council of Autism Service Providers - CASP webinar on responsible AI integration in applied behavior analysis.

The session will focus on:
• Data security and client privacy
• Technical transparency and bias mitigation
• Structured evaluation frameworks
• Ongoing domain expert oversight

Ever been told ABA is rigid or compliance-driven?

What it actually looks like in quality programs:
Following a child’s motivation
Teaching through play
Regulating before redirecting
Respecting sensory needs
Building trust before building skills

If a child is dysregulated, we do not push through.
We co-regulate.
We adjust the environment.
We teach replacement skills that work for that child.

Learning happens when a nervous system feels safe.
Because regulation is not a barrier to learning. It is the foundation.
