On National HR Professional Day, we’re proud to recognize Courtney—one of the dedicated people who ensures everything flows smoothly behind the scenes! 🌟

Courtney has been in Human Resources for over 7 years and has proudly been part of the Affinity Hospice family for the last year and a half. She loves supporting employees and leaders while helping create a positive, people-first workplace culture. Healthcare has always had her heart. Born and raised in Southeast Michigan, Courtney is a die-hard MSU (Go Spartans!) and Detroit Lions fan. Outside of work, you can usually find her with her family, planning trips, or chasing down the nearest beach—no matter where she is!

Today, we’re celebrating National HR Professional Day by shining a spotlight on one of the amazing people who keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes—Heather! 🌟

Here is what she has to say,
"I have been working in Human Resources since 2011 and joined the HR team at Affinity Hospice on April 1, 2024. What I enjoy most about being in HR is serving as a resource and support system for both leaders and employees—helping them navigate challenges and grow professionally.

What inspires me most about working in hospice and palliative care is knowing I’m supporting the dedicated individuals who provide compassionate care to patients and their families during one of the most difficult times in their lives.

Fun fact: I absolutely love to travel, especially by cruise! So far, I've been on 14 cruises and am always looking forward to the next adventure at sea."

🎉💙 We love celebrating life’s sweetest moments! Each month, we honor our patients with a special cupcake from Blackbird Bakery in Downtown Bristol, VA. 🧁✨

This month was extra special as we celebrated Ms. Mary’s 101st birthday 🥳 and Ms. Syble’s 93rd birthday 🎂! To make the day even brighter, our favorite Elvis impersonator, Matt Dollar, joined in to sing their favorite songs 🎶👑.

Moments like these remind us that every life is worth celebrating. 💙
