Last Saturday, after an incredibly busy Summer, I was finally able to take a break at the Warm Springs Pools. Heidi Motherwit Midwifery and I took a road trip for delicious Thai food 🍜 at Taste of Thai Harrisonburg, Va followed by a float at the Warm Springs Bathhouses.

We took our time all day. It was relaxing and exactly what we needed. ☺️ Can’t wait to go again!

🌸 WELCOME DAKOTA 🌸

We all looked forward to Dakota’s birth on the family farm. The views from the porch where her parents labored together were incredible. Her mom labored instinctively in the pool and her father made sure the water stayed warm on an unusually cool night in August. Music from the 80s and worship music played nearby. It was such a positive and upbeat labor space.

After attempting to rest for a bit, Dakota’s mom decided she needed a change in birth location. We support moms. We support her right to change where she gives birth.

This birth reminds us that out of hospital birth is not just about birth location. It’s about prenatal care, it’s about making informed decisions, it’s about feeling supported in changing plans, and it’s about postpartum care. It’s about the relationships we build.

Congratulations to this beautiful family and thank you for choosing us to be a part of your story! 💗

🎉 Our 3rd annual client picnic will be held 9/13 11-1, at The Nest. This is my favorite event all year and it’s just over a week away!

If your last name starts with A-M, please plan to bring a side dish, N-Z a dessert to share. All other foods and drinks will be provided. 🌭

You are welcome to bring chairs and blankets for the lawn. We will also have a couple of tents, but if you would like to bring one for additional shade, you may do that as well. We will be out back, behind the birth center. 🧺

We can’t wait to see you all there! It’s so fun to watch everyone grow. 😍

🥰 Thank you to everyone that came out to Taste of the Mountains yesterday.

The weather was ah-mazing and I enjoyed seeing so many familiar faces as well as new ones. It was a great day to be out in the community!
