Here at AWWC, we absolutely love doulas! Doulas work with birthing families to provide physical, emotional, and informational support throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. We love doulas because we know they not only help people have safer, healthier births, but they also improve birth experiences and leave families more satisfied with their birth experience.

Tag your favorite Huntsville-area doula below!! We'd love to hear your experience birthing with doula support.

Repost from The Educated Birth

Continuous labor support from a doula is an evidence-based method for improving birth outcomes and satisfaction. ✨

Like care providers, there are many different doulas out there for you to choose from, with different types of training, kinds of experiences, sets of expertise, personalities, styles and philosophies — and more!

Interview doulas in your area to find the right fit for you and your birth team. ❤️

Introducing Gloriana Doula Services' logo! I'm working on a website, business cards, and all the fun marketing things that go along with this business stuff, but I wanted to go ahead and show you the logo and give the story behind it.

In August, my husband and I found out that we were expecting a baby! Because both of us have had reproductive health issues, we didn't think it would be a possibility. We were so excited, and started planning for an April due date.
Five days after the positive pregnancy tests, I started to bleed. We went to the OB Emergency Department, and they confirmed our fears...at just less than six weeks, I was miscarrying. That week was such an emotional roller coaster, and the grief that followed has been the most difficult I've ever faced. But God is good, and we are healing.

Since the pregnancy ended, I've been drawn to Daisies...what would have been the birth flower of our April baby. And through the grief, the meaning of my business name, "Glorious Grace," has been so very present in our hearts.

The words of the hymn by Annie Johnson Flint have always spoken to me, but moreso now:

"He giveth more grace when the burdens grow greater,
He sendeth more strength when the labors increase;
To added affliction He addeth His mercy,
To multiplied trials, His multiplied peace.

"When we have exhausted our store of endurance,
When our strength has failed ere the day is half done,
When we reach the end of our hoarded resources,
Our Father’s full giving is only begun.

"His love has no limit, His grace has no measure;
His power no boundary known unto men;
For out of His infinite riches in Jesus
He giveth and giveth and giveth again."

And so, with those words in my heart, I decided to design the business logo to remind myself every day that in the midst of the hardest season of my life, His glorious grace has been with me. I am so thankful.
