🌟Precision. Preparedness. Purpose🌟

🚁 Precision: Doing things accurately and exactly right.

🚁Preparedness: Being ready for anything before it happens.

🚁Purpose: Having a clear mission or reason behind what you do.

At PHI Indiana 7, our mission is rooted in safety and a commitment to the community to be as prepared as possible for every call. This stunning picture was captured after a night training of Night Vision Goggles.

At PHI, every flight crew member is required to maintain knowledge and a certain amount of time wearing the NVGs.

One of the best features of being located at an airport, we get to see different aircrafts come in to refuel or execute training exercises. Today, we got to meet a Coast Guard crew from Detroit, Michigan. Their crew consisted of a Rescue Swimmer, Mechanic, and 2 pilots! 🚁

We at Indiana 7 are proud to recognize Nick, Scott County EMS Director, for receiving the Coin of Excellence 🪙✨🚁

During a challenging, high‑acuity situation, Nick was notified for the need of joint care for the patient needs. He immediately stepped in and devised a plan to ensure the best possible patient care. His dedication to EMS, leadership under pressure, and willingness to go above and beyond exemplify what this recognition stands for.

This event was a multi‑agency run, and PHI Indiana 7 values our continued strong partnership with our neighboring EMS establishments. We are grateful to work alongside leaders like Nick who put patients first—always. Congratulations Nick!

Our base PHI Indiana 7, would like to say congratulations to the team at here Madison Regional Airport on this exciting and well-deserved grant award.

This significant upgrade to the airport’s Automated Weather Observation System marks a major step forward in safety, reliability, and modernization. Not only for aviation operations, but for the entire region. The enhancements will improve storm detection capabilities, visibility tools, and increase system reliability during severe weather. All of the upgrades will make a meaningful impact for all who depend on accurate, real-time conditions.

We are incredibly grateful for our continued partnership with the airport; and for the opportunity to operate alongside a team so committed to excellence. Your support plays a vital role in allowing us to provide critical care transport safely and efficiently.

Our team at Indiana 7 had the privilege of participating in a multi-agency educational training yesterday in partnership with Nucor Gallatin Steel. Our focus was on the recognition and management of suspension trauma.

This valuable training brought together multiple responding agencies to strengthen interagency coordination, enhance communication, and refine critical rescue and patient care techniques. Realistic, hands-on scenarios like these are essential in ensuring a rapid, efficient, and well-coordinated response when every second matters.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Nucor Gallatin Steel and all participating agencies for their collaboration, hospitality, and shared commitment to safety and excellence. Partnerships like these play a vital role in maintaining readiness and delivering the highest level of service to our community.

Yesterday, our crew had the opportunity to conduct a training session with Ripley County EMS EMT class. During the exercise, we reviewed safe landing zone selection, effective communication practices, our operational capabilities, and the importance of early aircraft activation. We also demonstrated patient loading techniques and discussed potential challenges that may arise during scene responses.

Collaborative trainings like this are essential in strengthening interagency coordination and ensuring we are prepared to respond efficiently when time is critical.

We are always thankful for their partnership, engagement, and commitment to ongoing training and patient care.

We would also like to thank Versailles Fire Department for landing us at the career center, and remained there until we departed. 🚁🚒🚑

🎀Welcome to the world sweet Penelope Frances🎀

Our work family just got a little bigger! Our flight nurse Matthew and wife Jessica, welcomed a sweet healthy baby girl into the world on March 11th. We can’t wait to meet the newest little member of the crew. Wishing you all the love and joy with this new chapter.

As is the nature in EMS, our base decided to have some healthy competition by wagering how much Miss Penelope would weigh. Our Aircraft Maintainer Travis, won by 2 Oz! As a prize, Travis will get bragging rights!

Bittersweet news for our team today.

We say goodbye to one of our incredible flight nurses, Kayla Roberts, as she begins a new chapter in the CVICU at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.

Kayla has been an integral part of our crew and a huge asset in opening PHI Indiana 7 in Madison, Indiana. She has been there since the very beginning, dedicating countless long days and nights to helping the base grow and succeed—all while continuing to further her education and earning her degree.

A dual-certified clinician, Kayla serves both as a paramedic and a nurse, and continues to work as a paramedic with multiple local services. Her calm in chaos, dedication to patient care, and commitment to excellence have made a lasting impact on our crew and the patients we’ve had the privilege to care for together.

While we will certainly miss having her in the air with us, we know the CVICU is gaining an exceptional provider. We’re grateful that she will continue serving her community on the front lines of healthcare, and we look forward to seeing her continue to grow and excel in her career.

Kayla, thank you for everything you’ve given to this team and this program.

Wishing you nothing but success in this next chapter. Fly high in whatever direction your career takes you next. 🚁🖤💛
