We would like to thank the volunteers from the Oldham-Ramona-Rutland National Honor Society for lending a hand with Bags for Bonnie! Grocery bags have to be folded, cut, and looped into 'plarn', which Bonnie then crochets into plastic mats for people who are homeless to sleep on. This group got a lot done in a short time, and we really appreciate their assistance!

We were so egg-cited to celebrate Easter with Trinity Lutheran Preschool last week! We decoupaged Easter eggs, had an Easter Egg Hunt, and then played a dice game with the eggs! Of course, we enjoyed a snack as well. We hope everyone had a blessed Easter!

Thank you to our family and friends in the community for donating the cookies, and to Marci Hofman and her troupe for making it happen! We appreciate you making our Easter egg-stra special!

As the American Psychological Association describes, the right song can make us feel chills, help pull us out of a bad mood, or take us back in time to the first time we heard it. This week during one of our favorite activities, Sing-A-Long, together we experienced all of the feels as went back in time singing:

• Goodnight Irene by Jim Reeves (This song was a real tearjerker for one resident ❤️)

But that wasn't all, we even had a special furry friend, Maizey, come and visit us! What a joy it is to do life together, and what a gift we have in music to help our hearts and minds travel to such sweet places.

🇺🇸 National Vietnam War Veterans Day 🇺🇸

Today, we pause to honor and thank the men and women who served during the Vietnam War, including many of the Veterans and families we are privileged to know right here at Peaceful Pines.

Through our partnership with Patriot Angels, we help Veterans and their surviving spouses explore the VA Aid & Attendance benefit, a tax-free monthly pension that can help cover the cost of senior living and care for those who qualify. As a small way of saying thank you, Peaceful Pines waives the community fee for eligible Veterans working with Patriot Angels, helping families focus on care, comfort, and community.

If you or someone you love served during a wartime period, you may have benefits you didn’t even realize were available. Today, we honor your service and stand ready to help you explore the support you’ve earned.

Living Life Together—where connection, laughter, and a little friendly competition are all part of the game 🏀 Lately, we’ve been catching a bit of March Madness fever, cheering on our Girls State Basketball team and bringing that same energy into our own daily fun. From shuffleboard showdowns to the viral horse race game (with some very close photo finishes 🐎), the competition has been alive and well.

But around here, it’s about more than just the games—it’s about the moments we share. We crowned our Valentine’s King & Queen (and yes, they wore it well 👑), celebrated Read Across America Day in true Dr. Seuss style, and even passed the Olympic flame through the community because everyone deserves their moment to shine.

At Peaceful Pines, our days are built around connection, purpose, and creating a place where people truly feel they belong. This is what “Living Life Together” looks like—and trust us, it’s a winning season. Come join us. 💛
