Dai III, MD is a graduate of the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center School of Medicine in Denver, Colorado and completed his residency in dermatology at the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium in San Antonio, Texas. He most recently provided medical and surgical dermatology services to the “four corners” region in Durango, CO. His prior military experience includes serving as chief of Dermatology and Medical Specialties Clinic at Blanchfield Army Community Hospital, Fort Campbell, KY which is home to the 101st Airborne Division and 5th Special Forces Group. He also served as chief of Dermatology and Medical Specialties Clinic at Ireland Army Health Clinic, Fort Knox, KY which is home to the US Bullion Depository. During his time as an Army dermatologist, he served as an assistant professor of Dermatology at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences. He also served one combat tour as a battalion flight surgeon with the 101st Airborne Division in Kandahar, Afghanistan. His awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Superior Unit Citation, numerous Army Commendation Medals, the expert field medical badge, the German Armed Forces Proficiency badge as well as being air assault and flight surgeon qualified. Dr. Dai is board-certified by the American Board of Dermatology and among the first in the nation to be double board-certified in both dermatology and Mohs micrographic surgery. He is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, the American Society of Mohs Surgery and the Association of Military Dermatologists. Dr. Dai is passionate about dermatology, Mohs surgery and spending time educating and treating his patients. He will take the time to ensure all their dermatology needs are met. Dr. Dai’s life revolves around his wife, son, and three daughters as well as their two great Danes. His interests include skiing, shooting, and fitness. He has participated in numerous marathons and triathlons including the Bataan Memorial Death March and Ironman Western Australia.
