The Boone Memorial Health Community Wellness Day is returning next Friday, October 17! Join us for a day dedicated to health, wellness, and community connection on the main BMH campus from 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Vendor participation is limited and accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Along with space availability, the types of services and screenings offered will be taken into consideration.

🏌️ Boone Memorial, a proud Par Sponsor and participant of the 31st Annual WVU Medicine / Thomas Foundation Golf Tournament

Edgewood Country Club — Monday, October 6

The 31st Annual WVU Medicine / Thomas Foundation Golf Tournament brought together golfers and supporters for a day of friendly competition and community spirit at Edgewood Country Club.

A highlight of the event was the popular “HIT THE COW” contest, proudly sponsored by local area Chick-fil-A restaurants. Boone Memorial Hospital’s own Wyatt Scaggs, Secretaty of the BMH Board of Directors and an avid golfer from Logan, successfully “hit the cow” and won a meal a week for one year. Scaggs was one of three golfers at the tournament to claim this fun and flavorful prize.

Joining Scaggs on the Boone Memorial team were David Gresham, BMH Chief Development Officer, along with David Loggins and Scotty Amburgey. The team delivered a strong performance, finishing 14 under par—just a few strokes behind the tournament champions.

The event was another great success, celebrating camaraderie, community, and the ongoing partnership between WVU Medicine and the Thomas Foundation in support of regional healthcare initiatives.

Our Story

When Boone Memorial first opened its doors in 1964, its leaders dedicated their energies to the philosophy of

“People Helping People.” In short, the facility was not to be simply a sterile clinical outpost for the sick and injured; it was to serve as a vital part of the community.

This dedication to the community began, of course, by providing excellent care to its patients, and extended out to patients’ families, employees’ families, and partnering community organizations.

The original team of five physicians and 38 employees has expanded more than five-fold in the last five decades, and their commitment to outreach and community health has experienced similar growth.
