Behind every great patient experience is a friendly face ready to help 💙
This National Patient Access Week, we’re proud to recognize our incredible Patient Service Specialists (PSS) inside the main hospital. From welcoming patients at the front desk to guiding them through registration and answering questions with care, they are often the very first connection in a patient’s journey.
Your compassion, patience, and dedication make a difference every single day—and we’re so grateful for all that you do!

Last week, Boone Memorial Health had the honor of welcoming First Lady Denise Morrisey, Secretary of Health Dr. Arvin Singh, Delegate Josh Holstein, RHTP Director Dr. Carrie Jeffries, Bureau for Public Healh Acting Commissioner Justin Davis, and Assistant to the Secretary of Health Shakita Micek to Madison.
The State team toured Market on Main - Madison, WV, and met with BMH leadership to learn more about the community health work underway across our service area — from food-as-medicine programming and chronic disease management to workforce development, youth prevention, and other efforts addressing the social determinants of health.
We are grateful for their time and deeply encouraged by the State's commitment to transforming rural health in West Virginia. BMH looks forward to continuing this collaboration and helping advance meaningful, community-driven solutions in the work ahead!

💚 Honoring a Life-Saving Gift 💚
Earlier this week, Boone Memorial Health recognized Living Donor Day and celebrated the incredible gift of life through organ donation.
We were honored to recognize Brandi Smith of Chapmanville, who made the selfless decision to donate her kidney to her husband, Dustin, an act of love that truly changed and saved a life. While they were unable to attend in person, their story was at the heart of the day.
Guests enjoyed a special meal inspired by Dustin’s favorites, and we’d like to give a special thank you to our fabulous Dietary Team for preparing the delicious grilled ribeye steak, baked sweet potato, and broccoli.
April is Donate Life Month, a time to raise awareness, honor donors and their families, and celebrate transplant recipients. Stories like Dustin and Brandi’s remind us just how powerful one decision can be.
Happy Easter from Market on Main and Boone Memorial Health! Thank you to all of the families who joined us today to meet the Easter Bunny and decorate eggs!

When Boone Memorial first opened its doors in 1964, its leaders dedicated their energies to the philosophy of
“People Helping People.” In short, the facility was not to be simply a sterile clinical outpost for the sick and injured; it was to serve as a vital part of the community.
This dedication to the community began, of course, by providing excellent care to its patients, and extended out to patients’ families, employees’ families, and partnering community organizations.
The original team of five physicians and 38 employees has expanded more than five-fold in the last five decades, and their commitment to outreach and community health has experienced similar growth.
Long before professional football and baseball teams wore pink in October to raise breast cancer awareness, BMH launched a local mammography program that made this life saving screening more accessible to the women of Boone County. Today, the hospital continues to offer half-priced mammography screenings available every October.
Years before towns and college campuses started going “smoke free” across the country, Boone Memorial became the first smoke-free hospital in West Virginia, underscoring their dedication to overall health and wellness of the community.
Perhaps most importantly, Boone Memorial Hospital joined 10 other southern West Virginia healthcare organizations in 1994 to form the Partners in Health Network. Network members work together to initiate a more logical approach to health services delivery, improve the health status of West Virginians, and assure access to essential health services in rural communities.
