Found one of my favorite plants growing all over the garlic beds today.
💛Avena Sativa 💛
or milky oats, or oatstraw, or just oats!
This nutrient dense plant does wonders on the nervous system. It can help a person with depression and insomnia, AND can be an ally to someone struggling with addiction.
The milky oat is also just an incredible friend to a distrupted nervous system. (Cough cough, likely us all if we live in this world today)

Can't wait to tincture these babes and enjoy some fresh tea!!! Weeeewhooooo

The Dandelions are back in Wisconsin!
I love this plant so much. Dandelion is embedded into our culture greatly, and it might not even be known!
There are many stories and games played and told as kids about this sweet plant. Like, blowing the seeds and making a wish, popping the head off of the flowers, and making dandelion crowns.
My current favorite story about dandelion is it's representation of the sun, moon and stars. The flower being the sun, roots the moon, and seeds the stars.

Oh and! Beyond all the fun games every single part of dandelion is edible!
A few of my favorite ways to prepare dandelions are:
1. Using the fresh spring leaves in a salad,
2. Baking with the flower heads.
3. Roasting the roots as and drinking as a coffee substitute, or mixing with teas.
4. Mixing the leaves in with an herbal pesto.
5. Making a cold water infusion with dandelion heads and mix with other fresh herbs.
6. I haven't tried to make a dandelion wine yet, but im adding that to this list because it seems like a fun and delicious way to use this herb ❤
7. Lastly, simply sautee the greens with your other mixed greens.

And the medicine 💌
+Use the leaves as a bitter tonic
+Use the roots to support the LIVER, and the kidneys, pancreas, gallbladder, spleen
+In an oil to massage breasts and/or treat irritated skin
+as a cooling and cleansing diuretic

"Shame creates blockages, blockages create pain" this is a quote from Kami McBride.
When it comes to the womb, the biggest medicine can come from healing the energy stored here.

Simply sitting with and providing a loving, self-care act to our womb/yoni is healing in itself.

Yoni steaming can also nourish women who,
-had a baby recently
-have endometriosis
-are going through menopause
-have scar tissue
-have irregular periods
-gets painful cramps
-has an inclination for infection, high yeast or bacteria (womb or urinary tract)
-want to increase libido and be able to get more wet

I have created two new blends that i am so excited to share with you.

Flower essence pt. 2
About the dilution process.
This used to confuse me. The smaller amount of physical medicine the better the quality of the essence?!
Yes. This is true with this form of medicine. Esseneces are to be looked at in a different way that a physical medicine like a infusion or extraction. This is really the medicine of the ✨SPIRIT✨ of the plant.

So, the more diluted the mother essence gets, the more potent it is for an animal body to recieve. I like to think of it in a visual way. The smaller the particles the easier it is to access and pe*****te our cells. Though this is vibrational medicine and science is still trying to figure out what is vibration vs. particle ;)

After making the initial mother essnece i tend to dilute this down tao more times before selling it. Thought I often take this on my own from one to three dilutions.

How do you like to make flower essences?

One of my favorite ways to connect with a plant is through its essence.
Have you ever tried to make a flower essence?
It's really simple, the most important part is do what feels right. Your intuition.

Traditionally the steps are to: cut a flower in full bloom, place it on top of good clean water, let it sit for a few hours in direct sun, remove flower and add this 1 PT. Charged water to 1 pt. Liquor of choice ( I like brandy ).
Now you have the mother essence.
From here you can dilute the mother essence into smaller bottles of 50/50 liquor and clean water. Somewhere between 5-11 drops in 1/2 oz bottles. And dilute more and more from there.

I used to be very confused in the dilution process and how is this medicinal at all.
Ill post a pt. 2 on that piece 💚🌺

*Urtica dioica*
Stinging Nettles

Is this plant every herbalists best friend? Ok at least they’re one of your best friends.
This plant is LOADED with nutrients. Taken as an infusion (strong tea) or eaten, this plant will assist you in feeling your best by way of giving you the micro nutrients you need. It has iron, zinc, magnesium, selenium, calcium, potassium, phosphorus, copper, sulfur, boron, silica AND vitamins A, C, D, K and B complex.
Can you believe this plant was put on the earth with us!? Wow I am grateful. We are blessed!

Beyond general nutrition this plant is used for, allergies, lung and sinus problems, to restore the endocrine glands (adrenal and thyroid health!), to treat prostate inflammation and complications, and for kidney support.

Nettles is ruled by Mars. Which you might know if you’ve ever met this bad boy in the wild. It’s sharp and jagged edges represent the warrior qualities that Mars holds. And of course the stinging aspect.

Urtication is the practice of whipping a painful spot on the body with the Stinging Nettles. This can help with arthritis, blood flow and general pain.

When working with Nettles I have noticed that when you touch her leaves with intention you will not be stung. It’s when I brush against her mindlessly or pick without gratitude that I get stung.
