UPDATE: Boston Fire officials have confirmed the firefighter injured after falling from the 3rd floor rear porch during the 3-Alarm fire on Treadway Rd has succumbed to their injuries.
Boston Firefighter Injured After Falling From 3rd Floor During 3-Alarm Fire in Dorchester | May 23, 2026
Boston, MA - Just after 8:00pm, the Boston Fire Department responded to 18 Treadway Rd in Dorchester for reports of a structure fire.
Upon arrival, crews were met with heavy fire showing from the 3rd floor and through the roof of the building. A 2nd Alarm and later a 3rd Alarm were transmitted as firefighters worked to contain the blaze. Companies on scene were able to make a quick stop on the fire, preventing further extension.
During operations, a Mayday was transmitted after one firefighter fell from the rear porch on the 3rd floor. The firefighter was treated by Boston Emergency Medical Services and transported to a local hospital with injuries that are unknown at this time. The Mayday has since been cleared.
