The application is open for the Winter Break 2026 AHEC Community Health Immersion!!! College students are invited to join an in-person or virtual Immersion to connect with Wisconsin communities and learn about health challenges and contexts.

AHEC is a federal program created by Congress and run through the Human Resources and Services Administration. In Wisconsin, our funding is matched by the UW-School of Medicine and Public Health so that we can reach communities across the state and be a part of the Wisconsin Idea.

All AHECs participate in the AHEC Scholars program. Every year more than 6,000 health professions students enhance their learning with supplemental education and community-based field placements, better preparing them to improve healthcare for all who need it.

A network of more than 300 AHEC program offices and centers serve over 85% of US counties. In Wisconsin, our seven regional centers form partnerships and serve future health professionals in all 72 counties.
