: So many people have convinced themselves that they "aren't good at meditating". It's a practice, just like learning a new skill or learning a new language. It takes time to fine-tune your skills. Begin by just becoming aware of your environment. Study what you see, hear, smell, taste, and touch. Begin to notice your breath. Slowly allow yourself to practice observing your own experience, rather than responding to everything without thought. Be gentle.

Taking a break from all the chaos in life helps you to think better and show up better in life for yourself and those you love. When you pause, you gain a better understanding of yourself, why you respond in certain ways, and it helps you reset your inner sense of calm. How can you unplug and recharge mentally?

: We often try to control situations and assert our own ideas and opinions. Practice observing yourself doing this, and then explore how you can more easily allow things to unfold. Share your enthusiasm for an idea, share your optimism, share your passion. Allow those things to attract the right answers.

Some people find that the practice of "doing nothing" really does require practice.

It can be a challenge to be alone with your thoughts, with nothing to distract you when you float.

But that's where you can find peace... and healing. It might take some time to get comfortable with your own boredom. Embrace that.

Is floating on your "bucket list"? Truth be told, that causes a little sadness each time we hear it. It's like saying "feeling my best is on my bucket list" or "letting go of stress is on my bucket list".

These are things you deserve to experience in life now, not "someday". Float therapy is so much more than a new experience, and our members who float regularly would likely agree that it's a lifestyle decision. It's like taking your vitamins or medication everyday. It's like ensuring the oil gets changed regularly in your car. It's the same as eating healthy foods to take care of your body.

Unless you live every single day tackling those things on your bucket list, don't save floating for "one day". Prioritize yourself, especially during the holidays when you're giving so much of yourself to others.

Soon-to-be-moms carry the weight of the world, and sometimes that feels quite literal, so they certainly deserve a break from gravity.

Floating gives us a break from the constant pressure of gravity on our joints and spine - let alone a break from all the other stressors.

Some days are hard. Some days are easy.

But we move through it all.

Having a plan to proactively care for yourself through it all helps. If we wait until we break, it's harder to bounce back, so remember to prioritize yourself along the way too.

Our Story

Greg has been involved in the health and wellness industry since 2007. While in school for nutrition, working in the wellness department of his community grocery co-op and learning everything he could about being as self-sufficient as possible on farm he was renting, his stress levels were becoming difficult to manage. He discovered float therapy back in 2011, and after hearing about the physical and mental benefits, he had to give it a try. He drove down to what was then the closest float center in the area, a place in Chicago that has offered floating since the early 1980's. That first float changed everything. It was like a complete physical and mental reset. For the next 3 years he made the 5 hour round-trip every few months to float for that reset of body and mind. Eventually, he grew tired of trying to convince friends to open up a place in Madison, and he decided that he would be the one to provide the revolutionary tool to his community.
