From City of Madison, Wisconsin Government:
Another round of potentially severe weather is forecast for this afternoon and evening, with peak activity expected 6 PM - 10 PM. Possible risks include large hail, flash flooding, damaging winds, and tornadoes. If you have a life-threatening emergency, you should call 911.
The best way to stay informed about severe weather is to tune into TV, radio, and weather radio. Have a battery back-up for your radios in case of power outage. We also encourage residents to sign up for Dane County emergency alerts (also known as Rave Alerts): em.countyofdane.com/emergency-alerts
Also, ensure that Wireless Emergency Alerts are enabled on your cell phone: www.ready.gov/alerts
Please make sure your phone and other battery-powered devices are fully charged just in case we have power outages. Your local library is a good place to charge your phone if you're ever experiencing prolonged power outages. Find a location near you here: www.madisonpubliclibrary.org/locations
The safest places in a severe thunderstorm or tornado warning are typically interior rooms with no windows on the lowest floor as possible, ideally a basement.
REPORT A PROBLEM: If you see flooding or storm damage in your neighborhood, please let us know at www.cityofmadison.com/reportaproblem/
Check in with neighbors or loved ones that might need help during a severe storm. Be safe!
