My name is Maggie, I am a research assistant in the Language Acquisition and Bilingualism lab at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. We are conducting a study looking at how native English-speaking adults (ages 18-25) maintain their Spanish skills after dual language immersion programs.

Participation involves a 45-minute online, asynchronous survey. Participants will receive gift cards for participating.

Are you a parent or caregiver that speaks Tagalog and English? Is your child between 2-3 years old? We have a study opportunity for you! Come help us learn how children learn Tagalog and English by participating in this study. This study is fully VIRTUAL, and participants will be given $35 gift cards for completing questionnaires and reading two stories with their children over Zoom.

SRCLD 2024 📊📝

This past weekend was the 44th Symposium on Research in Child Language Disorders! Our lab members had a great time interacting with other researchers and having the opportunity to learn about current research in the field.

Three of our lab members, Emily Bagan, Maddie Crist, and Dani Hu presented their posters during the Symposium.

Emily Bagan presented her research on “Bilingual parent-child dyads’ novel word and gesture use”.

Maddie Crist presented her Senior Honor’s Thesis on the “Cognate Effects in Novel Morpheme Learning in Bilingual Children”.

Dani Hu presented her research on the “Feasibility of Varying Objects to Teach Toddlers Colors”.

Thank you to Margarita Kaushanskaya, our Principal Investigator, Audra Sterling, Principal Investigator of the Research in Developmental Disabilities and Language Lab, and everyone who made this possible. We can’t wait for next year’s SRCLD!

¡Este fin de semana pasado fue el 44 Simposio sobre Investigaciones de Trastornos del Lenguaje Infantil! Nuestros miembros del laboratorio se la pasaron muy bien interactuando con otros investigadores y teniendo la oportunidad de aprender sobre investigaciones actuales en la profesión.

Tres de nuestros miembros del laboratorio, Emily Bagan, Maddie Crist, y Dani Hu presentaron sus pósters durante el Simposio.
