Sweden takes dogs seriously, and it shows.

You’re expected to give your dog real breaks. The authorities say dogs should be walked at least every 6 hours during the day, and more often for puppies and seniors.

It’s about welfare, not punishment. Long stretches alone can lead to stress, accidents, and health issues. Regular walks and company are part of basic care.

Official guidance also says it isn’t suitable to leave a dog alone an entire workday without a break. Plan midday help, a dog walker, daycare, or a trusted neighbor.

Some groups advise even shorter alone time. Many Swedish vets and trainers suggest aiming for 4 to 5 hours at most for healthy adult dogs, and much less for puppies.

Bottom line for Sweden: frequent outdoor breaks, daily exercise, and as little lonely time as you can manage. Your dog will be better for it, and so will you.

Interesting….

Professor Phelps from an Australian university conducted a fascinating experiment.

For a month, he divided students into groups of four and gave them 45 minutes to solve management problems. The best team would win a $100 prize.

What the students didn’t know is that some groups had “special guests” planted among them — people playing very specific roles:

📱 The Indifferent One — leaned back, threw their feet on the table, and scrolled through their phone, completely disengaged.

😏 The Sarcastic One — made cutting remarks during discussions like, “Are you serious?” or “You’ve clearly never led anyone before.”

😔 The Pessimist — looked like their favorite cat had just died, constantly doubting whether the task could even be solved and whether the team was capable of doing it.

❗ Professor Phelps discovered something striking:

Even when the other three members were motivated and highly capable, the presence of just one unconstructive team member reduced the group’s overall performance by 30–40%.

In other words, team effectiveness depends less on the number of strong performers and more on whether there’s even a single weak link.

💡 The takeaway:

The role of leaders and HR managers isn’t just to support the strong — it’s to remove the weak elements that undermine team dynamics. Strong performers will thrive on their own, as long as no one is poisoning the collaborative atmosphere.

Please let me know what you think of my newly written Core Values and Code of Ethics: Part One: Harmonic Health Coaching’s (HHC) Five Core Values,
(pp. 1-3) and HHC’s Code of Ethics, (pp. 4-5)

1. Integrity

Aspiration

Harmonic Health Coaching (HHC) aspires to operate with the highest integrity concerning an integrative approach to health and well-being. We strive to set a gold standard in health screening and take an interdisciplinary approach to assessing client needs and desires for healing. This also includes a self-assessment in the areas of relationships, physical activity, career, inspiration and creativity, nutrition, and self-care practices including a mindfulness-based practice incorporated into one’s daily living.

We adhere to local rules, regulations, and laws regarding certification constraints. We recognize our limits as a wellness organization and make no claims to being a medical organization.

Harmonic Health Coaching acknowledges the psychological, spiritual, relational, and physical integrity of its clients. We are dedicated to upholding the age-old adage: “First, do no harm.”

Application

• Develop and regularly revise the health screening processes to integrate anecdotal reports, scientific research, feedback from clients, and best practices in nutrition and mindful living practices.

• Prioritize the role of science in mindful lifestyle practices to create intentional settings, context, and containers for ourselves and others that facilitate, promote and/or support healing, harmony, integration, and individual and collective liberation. These containers seek to bring people closer to themselves and to each other within their family and friend constellations.

2. Access

• Advocate for legislation and legalization of plant-life worldwide that engenders regenerative access to organic food that will sustain longevity and lifestyle health.
• Connect with organizations and companies that advocate sustainable lifestyle habits that do no harm to animals, local ecologies, or economies and do not result in species extinction or extract important plants, fungi, or animals from indigenous communities.
