📚Happy Wednesday, y'all📚

🌍 In a world that’s always go, go, go… we’re taught to measure our worth by our output. What we do often overshadows who we are.

Slow Productivity by Cal Newport offers practical strategies to step back, redefine productivity, and prevent burnout.

As a neuroaffirming workplace, Common Threads encourages our team to create work systems that actually work for THEM! ✨✨✨

What accommodative workplace strategies support you in burnout prevention?

It has been shared that the FoodShare (SNAP) program will be unable to operate in November. As November approaches we want to do what we can to support people in our community who may be without a stable source of food. From October 27th - November 26th we will have a community food box set up in our entryway at 1717 N Stoughton Rd (the building is setback from the road with a large parking lot in front).

If you are in the position to do so we would love some support in stocking the community box - we are looking for donations of shelf-stable goods like: canned vegetables and fruits, baby formula, canned protein, cooking oil and spice, peanut butter, rice, pasta, cereal, beans and soup. Can openers would also be helpful!

Please share with anyone who might benefit from an additional food source or anyone who could help with donations. In solidarity 💖💖💖

Happy Wednesday - you know what time it is... 😸📚

Ever wish you had a workbook or guide to understand the intricacies of your brain? Same. 🙋‍♀️✨

That’s why we’re obsessed with these stunning workbooks by Chanelle Moriah called "I Am Autistic" and "This is ADHD".

Not only are they packed with insight and guidance, but the graphics are seriously gorgeous. 🎨💛

Perfect for anyone wanting to better understand and embrace their neurodivergence. Order yours today to support your journey with curiosity, clarity, and self-acceptance. 📖

Introducing..... book reviews by CT staff:

The link between neurodivergence and PDA isn’t about being “defiant.”
It’s about survival. It’s about nervous system regulation. 🧠💛

Our therapists recommend these two incredible reads for learning how to support PDA in a neuroaffirming way:

➡️ Declarative Language Handbook -Linda K. Murphy
➡️ PDA in the Therapy Room -Raelene Dundon

Both are packed with real-life examples and practical strategies, making providers feel more confident and connected. 🙌

💬 Have you read either of these yet? We’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments!
