The Ohio Fair Co-Pay Act is now in effect!

Starting this week, if you have a plan that has a high “specialist” co-pay for therapy services, you should see that decrease to the co-pay you typically pay to see your primary care doctor.

For further clarity, co-pay is the cost sharing part of care that your insurance may have you pay when receiving medical services at point of service. Typically a specialist co-Pay can range anywhere from $10-80 per session. Most primary care co-pays are much lower (

Exciting news out of Columbus last week!

On January 2nd, Governor DeWine signed House Bill 141 into law. House Bill 141 is an act that caps Physical Therapy co-pays at the same rate that an insurance company charges for a primary care visit.

Ultimately, this means that PTs will be removed from the “specialist” designation in the insurance world.

The new law will go into effect on April 2nd, 2025. If you’ve been subjected to high co-pays for PT services, help is hopefully on the way come April!

**This is also a good to remind those with commercial insurance that private practice (like All Star) rates are often much cheaper than larger chain/hospital based PT clinics**

Given the current weather situation and the declaration of state of emergencies in both Ashtabula and Lake Counties, we will have both offices closed tomorrow Monday December 2nd!

We will do our best to get phone calls out tomorrow morning and attempt to reschedule as we can.

Due to the Level 3 Snow Emergency, our Ashtabula AND Madison offices will be closed tomorrow (Monday December 2nd)!

⚠️As of immediately, a LEVEL 3 snow emergency is in effect for areas situated North of Route 90, encompassing the region from the Lake County Line to the PA line. Consequently, all roadways within this designated area are restricted to non-emergency travel, given the current extremely hazardous conditions.⚠️
