ICare Health Liberia, Inc. I-Care Mission Statement: - To serve individuals and families in the poorest communities of Liberia by providing timely and convenient access to quality healthcare.

Mr. Roosevelt S. Dahn
Founder: Icare Health Liberia, Inc. I-Care &
Former: President (LAW) Mission Statement: -Mission Statement: - To serve individuals and families in the poorest communities of Liberia by providing timely and convenient access to quality healthcare. Our Vision: Everyone deserves ready access to quality healthcare. Our Mission Statement: To serve individuals and families in the poorest communities of Liberia by providing timely and convenient access to quality healthcare. Our Story: Roosevelt Dahn was born and raised in Yarsonnoh, Liberia. He saw first-hand the devastating effects of two Liberian civil wars, which burned his home village, Yarsonnoh, completely to the ground and killed more than 100 people. These wars, the first occurring from 1989 to 1996: and the second from 1999 to 2003, decimated the country. Nearly half a million people were killed and the country was plunged into deep poverty. Roosevelt was able to secure a visa to the US through the lottery system. He immigrated to the US in 2010, worked very hard, and was able to bring his wife, Patricia, and children to join him in Wisconsin, He and his family are doing well and are deeply grateful for their blessings. This gratitude compels him and Patricia to give back to their village and country. They recognize the urgent need for healthcare in Yarsonnoh and the neighboring villages and have decided that building a clinic there will be one of the best ways they can help their family, friends, and community in Liberia. Karolyn Broehm first met Roosevelt 6 years ago, during parent-teacher conferences. Roosevelt and Patricia’s daughter was in one of the classes that Karolyn taught at O'Keeffe Middle School in Madison. Shortly after this, she discovered that Roosevelt was a residential support staff person at her son's home. These connections helped create a mutual sense of trust and respect, and eventually led Roosevelt to share his vision of the clinic with Karolyn, and ask her to join him and Patricia in its creation. Karolyn was honored to join them. Current status of clinic project. Land in Yarsonnoh, purchased by Roosevelt and Patricia, has been cleared, a foundation dug, and clinic walls are almost completed! Much progress has been made in the last year, in large part due to the enthusiasm and hard work of the residents of Yarsonnoh as well as neighboring villages. Next steps: To continue as we have been, sending resources to the village and working with the people of Yarsonnoh and neighboring villages to complete the clinic. We have realized over the course of the past year that we need the encouragement and emotional support of others to sustain us. Therefore, we hope to share our vision and work with others via presenting to groups, speaking to individuals, and (of course) social media. Contact information follows…

Yesterday, I celebrated my 50th birthday anniversary in a colorful event with some great sons and daughters of Nimba County, including citizens from across Liberia and beyond. The dedication of the I-Care Health Center was truly outstanding and inspiring to me and my family, as we were acknowledged and appreciated for the hard work we have done over the years. The event officially opened the I-Care Health Center to the public and sought support from our community, friends, and political leaders.

We extend special thanks to our chief guest and launcher, Honorable Musa Bility, representative of District #7, Nimba County, and the political leader of the Citizens Movement for Change (CMC), who pledged 25 pieces of solar panel lights and one transformer on behalf of his party to supply electricity to our facility. We also thank the CEO of Alvino Hotels, Mr. Prince Howard AKA King Azara, Honorable Saye Sylvester Mianah, representative of District #8, Honorable Larry Younquoi, former representative of District #8, and other prominent leaders and citizens of Nimba County who contributed financially to the I-Care Health Center.

We acknowledge our friends and leaders who couldn't attend but still look forward to their contributions and support. We appreciate the citizens of Yarsonnoh and other community members for their support, especially those living in the United States.

A special thank you goes to my beloved wife, Madam Patricia Dahn, our children, her family, and my family and relatives for standing with us.

We also thank Senator Kogar for his generous donation and pledge. Thanks to our musicians, traditional dance group, DJ, MC, and the media team of Nimba, as well as my security guards, drivers, and engineers who built our facility. Special thanks to CICO management for expressing interest in contracting with I-Care Health Center.

Below is my speech at the grand opening ceremony:

Honorable Musa Bility, our chief launcher, citizens of Electoral District 8, elders, youths, women, religious leaders, persons living with disabilities, farmers, educators, students, The Mighty Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC), members of the press, friends, and well-wishers, I warmly welcome you all. I bring greetings from my wife, Madam Patricia Dahn, and our children.

Today, we gather to dedicate the I-Care Health Center, a dream born from a simple belief: I care deeply about people's health. This project reflects a lifelong desire to return home with something meaningful that will serve our community and leave a lasting legacy. With the support of a professional healthcare team, this modern facility will begin providing quality healthcare to the people of District 8. Our next goal is to acquire an ambulance to ensure timely medical response for those in need.

I extend heartfelt thanks to the people of Yarsonnoh, our families, and all friends and supporters who stood with us through challenges to make this dream a reality. Above all, we thank God for the strength and opportunity to complete this project.

As I mark my 50th birthday today, I invite you to celebrate with me and keep us in your prayers. Meanwhile, our request to Honorable Musa Bility is to help us with solar lights, a transformer, and our fundraising today is to buy an ambulance to provide timely and emergency services to our people.

Thank you all for coming!

Thank you,
Amb Roosevelt S. Dahn
