Lake Monona Water Walk

Lake Monona Water Walk 4 times we walked Lake Monona in a Good Way: July 2012 for Awareness, 2013 in Prayer, 2014 for Healin The Gratitude Walk.

In July of 2012 the first Lake Monona Water Walk was led by First Nations Ojibway Grandmother Josephine Mandamin and author/water researcher William Waterway Marks. Over 130 people joined in on the walk around Lake Monona to raise awareness, appreciation and gratitude for the waters of our community, the Great Lakes and all waters of our beautiful, gracious Mother Earth. Dozens of exhibitors/prese

nters offered outreach, education and events at the Winnequah park Community Water Festival. A weekend full of festivities, arts and honoring the waters of our lives. A small blessing and prayerful walk to harmonize was held in 2013, the second walk of four.
2014 offered the opportunity to Walk, Bike or Paddle once again to encourage the public toward good stewardship and healing of Lake Monona and All Waters.

2015 was our 4th and final Walk. We called the 'Medicine Drums' to Circle the Lake and called the people back to the shores of Lake Monona to camp and to remember our connection to that which gives us Life, Health and Joy... the Waters! An Elders Teaching Tepee, A Men's Sweat Lodge, A Women's Moon Lodge and a Children's Nature Activity tent balanced the four directions of Frost Woods Beach. 3x Grammy Award Winner Bill Miller was joined in concert by Monona Mayor Bob Miller, Dane County Executive Joe Parisi, Traditional Dancer Art Shegonee, Lake Monona Water Walk Coordinator Dianné Jean Aldrich, Ojibway Elder Joe Rose, Dr. Brian McIness, spokesperson for Grand Chief Edward Benton-Benai and local musicians including Joah Greengus, Pete Calgaro, Jeffrey James, Lenin Cordova, Rich Stanek, Tierney Sage, Dianné Jean Aldrich, Samantha Olson and Sue Linton who performed "With My Own Two Hands" by Jack Johnson to inspire Stewardship for our Waters.

People spend years dreaming about going to Machu Picchu.

Few ask the critical question that determines everything about the experience:

Am I prepared to receive what is there?

Preparation is not logistics.

It is not research.

It is the inner orientation — the quality of attention, the openness of perception — that determines the depth of the experience.

This carousel introduces something I call the Inner Architecture of Arrival: the framework that separates visiting a sacred place from entering into relationship with it.

The difference is not subtle.

It lives in the body.

You know it when you feel it.

Too many people who travel far and wide stand inside something ancient and feel nothing.

That is devastating.

But with proper preparation and an intentional sequence, pilgrimage reveals the hidden mysteries that amplify powerful transmission.

The pilgrimage to Peru is specifically sequenced to build this inner architecture before you ever arrive at Machu Picchu.

Cusco first. Saqsaywaman. The Sacred Valley. Each site preparing the next. Each threshold making the one ahead deeply available.

Willaru Huayta — Quechua Elder and Inca Chasqui — opens the dimensional gateway and facilitates transmission that no guidebook can replicate.

And it all begins months before departure.

The pre-pilgrimage Mystery School sessions are designed to prepare your Inner Architecture of Arrival.

If you're curious about this depth of travel... join us in August 2026.

People who have stood inside Machu Picchu describe something they cannot quite name.

A feeling that something enormous was present — and that they were somehow on the outside of it.

That feeling is not imagination.
It is accurate perception.

Something was present. And without the framework to receive it, it remains just out of reach.

What Willaru Huayta carries is not information about these sites. It is a living relationship with them — one built across decades of Quechua lineage and Andean mystery school transmission.

When he enters a sacred site, he enters a conversation.

When he guides you through the threshold, you enter it with him.

This carousel is for anyone who has stood somewhere ancient and felt the gap between what they were seeing and what was actually there.

And for anyone who has not yet gone — but senses that the standard tour would miss the point entirely.

The August pilgrimage moves through Cusco, the Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, and Lake Titicaca in a deliberate, initiated sequence.

Afraid to say YES?

The most spiritually prepared people in the room are often the ones most afraid to say yes to the next threshold.

Not because they're not ready.
Because they understand what ready actually means.

The ones who've done genuine inner work.

Who know how initiation moves.

Who can hold depth in a room.

These are the people who pause longest at the edge of something real.

They feel the weight of it.
And that's not a flaw. That's discernment.

But here's the thing:

There's a difference between preparation and perpetual preparation.

At some point, the pause stops being wisdom
and starts being a very sophisticated way of staying safe.

✦ Thresholds don't stay open indefinitely - not because of scarcity, but because of timing.

✦ The next opening won't come from more effort - it will come from standing in the right place, at the right time, with the right guidance.

✦ Machu Picchu doesn't ask if you're worthy - it asks if you've arrived.

Our guide, Inca Chasqui Willaru Huayta, will be turning 77.

In the tradition we carry, that's a rite-of-passage year.

This particular moment — this specific gathering in Peru — won't repeat itself.

That's not pressure. That's just true.

If there's a threshold you've been circling without quite naming it — that recognition is your soul communicating.

Don't fear it.

Lean into it.

And if you've been considering taking this adventure, join me for a ZOOM Meet & Greet tomorrow night.

☀️
I stood at the Sun Gate above Machu Picchu — and wept.

Not from exhaustion. Not from awe.
From recognition.

The land didn't surprise me.
It remembered me.

And somewhere deep in my body — I remembered it back.

That's when I understood the difference between visiting a sacred place and being received by one.

You can stand in the most holy ground on Earth and still be a tourist in your own experience.

Arrival isn't physical. It never was.

What Willaru Huayta carries — his lineage, his relationship with this land — it changes what the land is actually able to show you. Not as a credential. As a living transmission.

And none of it opens without inner readiness.

Without preparing the ground within yourself before you ever board the plane.

✨ Have you ever been received by a place?

Not just visited — but truly, quietly, recognized?

I'd love to hear your experience below — I read every single one.

Happy Friday,

If you have a walk, a drive, or a quiet morning this weekend, I think you’ll really enjoy watching or listening to this interview.

It touches something most people are never taught.

Sacred union.

We talk about intimacy within and beyond the physical.

About why so many relationships are not lacking love...
but lacking alignment.

What makes this conversation worth your weekend is where it goes next:

How most people are taught to work on relationship from the mind,

when deep transformation must happen through energy, through the body and through presence.

We also talk about Peru, sacred land, and what years of walking with my teacher, Willaru Huayta, have taught me about entering into relationship with places that were built to awaken us.

Have a wonderful weekend,

Before an experience,

do you prepare with logistics?

Or do you prepare your inner architecture of arrival?

That difference determines what the moment you desire is actually able to reveal.

This is the difference between simply visiting a place…

or being in relationship with it.

Relationship is juicy.
Visiting is boring.

Let’s talk about it.

The pilgrimage begins before we step onto the plane.

Most people think a journey to Machu Picchu starts with flights, hotels, and an itinerary.

It doesn’t.

A true pilgrimage begins in the way we choose to arrive.

The quality of our attention.
The pace of our nervous system.
Our willingness to release certainty.
Our capacity to arrive without turning the experience into performance, consumption, or achievement.

Ancient places do not reveal themselves through force.

They respond to presence.

This is why the most meaningful journeys begin long before we step onto the airplane.

Pilgrimage doesn’t start with logistics.

It begins with internal refinement.

Less noise.
Less rushing.
Less pressure to “get something” from the experience.

More listening.
More humility.
More relationship.

What I’ve learned through pilgrimage to Peru is this:

The mountain does not need anything from us.

How we arrive shapes what we are able to receive.

!HAPPY SPRING!

It is a gorgeous 70 degree day in Wisconsin... unusual for March... but what a delight... I just came in from kayaking!

I share that to simply encourage you, or give you permission, whichever you need right now...
..to take a pause and enjoy the life.

Life is rare, precious and fleeting.

It's easy to get swept away by work, news, unrest, family, stress and feel incredibly overwhelmed.

But the most successful, and happy, humans nearly all report that they pause.

They take time to simply be... and often...
..their best ideas..most vivid clarity..incredibly inspired moments
..come not from pushing harder and doing more,

but from getting still and allowing the creative life force to move freely and easily through them.

As I announce that registration is open for my Spring Sessions and Summer Pilgrimage...

I can remind you that the yurt and these opportunities are a wonderful place to pause, align and allow inspiration to guide you and enhance your life.

Check it all out below.

Excited to see you,
Dianné Jean Aldrich

Imagine standing at Machu Picchu at sunrise…

Not rushing.
Not taking photos.

But feeling something in your body you can’t explain.

The mountains are quiet.
The air is thin and alive.
And instead of looking at the place…

you feel like you’ve been invited into it.

Most people just visit Peru.

Few people experience it as a living, sacred relationship.

In the Sacred Valley, there are moments where time slows down...

where you sit with the land, in ceremony...

guided by someone who has spent his entire life in direct relationship with these mountains.

Not teaching about them.
But working with them.

For 26 years, I’ve been walking this path with my teacher,
Inca Chasqui, Willaru Huayta.

And what I’ve seen again and again is this:

the people who come on this journey don’t just have an amazing trip…

they return home different.

Clear.
Elevated.
Connected to the Soul inside themselves.
Fundamentally moved by the spirit of the Apu, the Andes.

And this can be scary. Elevation and connection and clarity can be scary.

Since I first shared about this pilgrimage, some very courageous Souls have stepped forward, and the journey is already over halfway full.

This has become very clear...

the ones saying yes aren’t the most “ready.”

They’re the ones who recognize the feeling…
the invitation...
and choose to trust it.

So I want to invite you into a wonderful conversation.

A gathering on ZOOM where we'll explore:

what actually happens in the Sacred Valley
how we prepare ahead of time so Machu Picchu becomes an experience, not a photo stop
and how to know if this adventure is truly calling you

This gathering is not to convince you that this trip is for you...

Excited to see you on April 7th.

Dianné Jean Aldrich

Compassion is a great talking point.

But the real invitation is to practice compassion in real time — especially when life is challenging.

When someone is upset.
When the energy around us feels confrontational.
When negativity feels hurtful or overwhelming.

In those moments, compassion becomes more than a value.

It becomes a powerful way to transform the energy of a relationship.

Compassion is not weakness.
It is one of the most powerful tools we have to create understanding, connection, and growth.

If you want to cultivate deep connection with yourself, your beloved and your life purpose, I invite you to join my FREE 7-Day Connection Challenge.

I’m seeing this more and more often…

Is it true for you right now too?

You feel that something is off.

Not broken.
Not dramatic.

Just… not fully alive.

Your mind understands what’s happening.
You’ve done the reflection.
You’ve named the pattern.

But your body still feels tired.
Your energy is low.
Your relationship feels flat or distant.

And you don’t understand why nothing is actually shifting.

If you’re feeling this on any level, this is where I introduce something most people have never been taught how to do:

Vitalization.

Vitalization is the third phase of my ARVC process.

It’s where you begin to access and vitalize the life energy that is already in your system… but not fully available to you.

Not conceptually.
Not intellectually.

Physically.
Emotionally.
Energetically.

It’s where clarity becomes energy.
Where insight becomes movement.
Where something in you actually comes back online.

And this is where real change begins.

And it doesn’t happen in just one way.

It might be through Qigong.
Through time in nature.
Through changing how you nourish your body.
Through being in a space that supports you.
Through stepping into something that stretches you in the right way.

Recently, I’ve been returning to some of my favorite practices as I prepare for my journey to Machu Picchu…

Even something as simple as bringing fresh wheatgrass juice back into my daily rhythm has shifted my energy in a noticeable way.

And it reinforces what I know to be true:

There is no single correct path.
No one practice.
No perfect plan.

Your path to vitality won’t look like anyone else’s.

But you will know it when something in you begins to feel more alive again.

And when that happens…

your relationships feel it.
your presence changes.
your capacity expands.

Life will meet you differently.

If you’re in the phase where you’ve done the awareness…
you’ve even begun restoration…
but something still isn’t fully moving…

Then your next step is vitalization.

In the coming weeks, I’ll be leading the
Relationship Mastery: 7-Day Connection Challenge.

This is not about more information.

It’s about bringing life back into the places that matter most:

your body
your love life
your passion
your purpose

Every strong relationship is built on a deep foundation.

Before blissful coupleship… the necessary foundation is the relationship with ourselves.

Our physical health.
Our emotional balance.
Our mental clarity.
Our energetic presence.

When we bring an unbalanced or overwhelmed self into a relationship, tension and conflict arise. And when our relationship at home isn’t stable, it can affect every other part of life, including our focus, creativity, and work.

But when we begin by remembering who we truly are ~ wisdom, love, and power ~ we create a foundation where relationships can truly flourish.
