Yoga is more than stretching and bending your physical body. Originally, it was a way to stabilize and manage your subtle energy channels to maintain health for your body and mind. Let's go back to that idea. Join me for Awakened Yoga, an exploration of movement through your physical, subtle, and spiritual bodies. Free. Online. Accessible to every body. And really fun.

In this 6-week online yoga class, you'll explore wholistic movement using movement, breath, visualizations, and intention. You'll experience the deeply grounded feeling of ease that comes with the physical, spiritual, and subtle body come together as one.

When I lost myself, I didn’t know I was lost until I was no longer gone. That “gap” is interesting to me. How can I stay grounded when I’m spiraling out of control? When I don’t even know I’m out of control until I have control again?

After talking with customer support for hours, I went into fight and flight mode, completely losing myself. When I finally found myself again, I learned important lessons about closing the gap of awareness.

My whole life I have loved exploring the union between my spirit and body. But now, I’m wondering if all of my assumptions have been wrong.

After years of somatic practices, searching for the union of body-mind, I'm wresting with the paradox that I've been asking the wrong question all along.

I'm tentatively back to having phone service! Yay!

After washing my phone in the laundry last weekend, drying it out and weighing it twice/day to see how much water was still in it, having to arrange a tow without a phone (after sliding off a country road in our first storm this week), and watching USPS track my replacement phone from Clive, IA to Madison, WI, and then to PITTSBURG (!!) (What??), it's been quite an experiment about my dependence on phones.

What did I learn? Besides my personal attachment to using my phone, it's actually a practical necessity. You need a phone to arrange a tow. You need a phone to receive security codes if you want to log online. I've never seen so clearly how few options there are without a phone.

I finally braved turning on my (now very clean) old phone and it seems to be working for now. You can see the screen has very odd water-spots inside the screen. I can't imagine what kind of damage is inside but for now, I've managed to talk with a few family members.

My replacement phone has left Pittsburg and is somewhere between Akron and Madison, presumably in a truck that is barreling down the snow-swept highway. Hopefully it will arrive in a couple of days.

Be safe new phone! You have a warm home waiting for you!! 😉

I've worked with many people with cranky, sensitive, unpredictable bodies. These bodies create a lot of havoc and it's really hard to be comfortable with them. However.... there is hope. Many people make peace and find ways to live with strength, resiliency, and even good humor. Here are my main take-aways.

Your body is stronger and more resilient than it seems--if you get the right kind of support.
