A layover in Dubai feels like a quick visit home — anywhere you turn, there’s a Filipino. We carry our creativity, kasipagan, and resilience like a quiet signature the world has learned to welcome.
I asked a fellow Pinoy how to find the Burj Khalifa, and in true Filipino fashion, he didn’t just give directions — he used the classic nguso point: "Basta diretso ka lang sir… tapos baba po, pakaliwa.”
And of course… tumpak talaga!
Only a Filipino can guide you to the tallest building in the world using nothing but instinct, kindness, and a little nguso.
Pinoy ka nga — natural ang galing.
For those who don’t know: Filipinos often use “nguso” — a gentle lip-pointing gesture — to show direction.
It’s practical, respectful, and such a beautifully simple part of who we are.
