We asked the team what their favorite thing about living in the Huntsville area is. Here’s what they had to say:

Tammie - Because I'm a nomad, the most remarkable thing about living here in Huntsville/Madison is establishing roots and creating a sense of stability and home. Growing up in a military family, you move every two or three years. Now, when I travel, I can't wait to get back home.

Liz - One of my favorite things is the diversity in people. How interesting to have people from so many places around this country and world living here sharing their cultures! Plus it's home for me - born and raised here as was my dad!

Gerri - One of my favorite things about living in the Madison/Huntsville area is the perfect blend of small-town charm and big-city energy. From beautiful hiking trails and local coffee shops to cutting-edge tech and a strong sense of community — it truly has it all!

Kristin - From a Northern Great Plains girl, I never get tired of hearing spring peepers in January or seeing my daffodils open around Valentine's Day. The honeysuckle is in full bloom now. The breeze smells marvelous.

Studies suggest weight-bearing and resistance training exercises are the best exercises to strengthen your bones.
According to Harvard Health, the impact and stress placed on the bones from these types of exercises prompts the body to produce new bone tissue, creating bones that are stronger and less prone to fractures.

True or False: Bone loss is a natural part of aging?

True. As we age, we naturally lose bone density. This is because, after age 50, our bodies typically slow down in producing new bone tissue.
Fortunately, foods rich in bone-strengthening nutrients (like calcium, protein, potassium, and Vitamin D) along with weight-bearing exercises (like walking or weight training) may help slow bone loss.
