University of Wisconsin Medical Radiation Research Center - uwmrrc

University of Wisconsin Medical Radiation Research Center - uwmrrc (UWMRRC) is a non-profit education research service laboratory, it is the only non-government resear

The UWMRRC has three primary objectives: 1) Educate and train graduate students in the Medical Physics Department, 2) Conduct research in ionizing radiation metrology, 3) Provide accurate and precise calibrations for radiation measurement instrumentation and sources. The University of Wisconsin Medical Radiation Research Center (UWMRRC) trains students in the Medical Physics Department at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. For general questions about applying for graduate studies in medical physics. UWMRRC Graduate Students are supported through the UWRCL's calibration service fees and research contracts. The University of Wisconsin Radiation Calibration Laboratory (UWRCL), provides calibration services for most radiation measurement instrumentation available in the medical or health physics community. The UWRCL is an Accredited Dosimetry Calibration Laboratory (ADCL), by the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM). The UWRCL is accredited by the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) for meeting the performance criteria of the internationally accepted ISO/IEC 17025.

Congratulation to five cal lab graduates finishing in the Spring of 2025 with their PhD. From left to right in this photo are Jacomb Lambeck, Larry DeWerd (advisor), Tommy Stasko, Jocelyn Jackson, Karsten Wake, and Wesley Culberson (advisor). We are excited to see where their lives will take them. Four of them are starting CAMPEP residency programs beginning on July 1. They have all contributed to very meaningful research and mentoring while working in the calibration laboratory. We will miss them all, but wish them the best as they continue down their career paths.
