Most patients we have end up being friends by the end of therapy. It is a journey we walk together that tends to forge a bond. That is probably the best part of our job. Sciatic Nerve!!!! I hear it all the time. It sounds almost like everyone gets a problem with it at some point. However, would you guess every person's problem is unique? There are many different causes of "sciatic nerve" pain. A large part of what we do is assess the true origin of the pain and address it at the source. What is your pain holding you back from?

It is Hand Therapy Week!

Meet Sydney Thigpen, our Occupational Therapist. She’s from Trussville, AL and has been working at the Hoover TherapySouth clinic since August 2024. She graduated with her Master’s of Science in Occupational Therapy in 2021 from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She has worked at TherapySouth for 3 years treating as a hand therapist focusing on treatment of the upper extremity. She works on upper extremity injuries conservatively and sees post-op patients from a variety of injuries including but not limited to: trigger finger, wrist fractures/sprains, finger fractures/sprains, tendon and ligament injuries, carpal tunnel, cubital tunnel, hand pain/stiffness, and splint fabrications.

Sydney is a Certified Neuro Specialist and specializes in the treatment of patients who have acquired traumatic brain injuries and strokes.
