In 2021, I received the Build It Together Award from NAMI Wisconsin. This award was given for outstanding contributions to address mental health needs of underserved communities.

My work has always been about love, kindness and Unity. Many individuals in underserved communities endure hardships that are unnecessary. When we think of our interactions with others we should treat them as we would want our loved ones to be treated. I have advocated for many years. The work I have done embodies hope for respect and justice for all.

Self-advocacy is when you are able to speak up and advocate for yourself. Some good skills to have are: knowing your rights, being assertive, communicating and setting goals. Being a self-advocate will help to make the best decisions for yourself. Self-advocacy is essential when in recovery. By knowing what's best for yourself, you can contribute to key decisions about your life.

Let Freedom Ring Movement, 2026

As I have continued my work I have noticed the biggest need is Unity in the world. I’m inspired by Martin Luther King and Rosa Parks as they stood for justice and liberty for all. In this movement I intend to bridge the gap between cultures through mental health services to bring more unity and kindness into the world. My biggest thought is that the world is no longer where it used to be, we have created a world now that all can live in stability. Join me in uniting as one for a better future for the generations to come.
