Social media can create unrealistic expectations that leave young people feeling discouraged, empty, and depressed -- and parents, caregivers, and educators need to know how to respond. Learn what to say to help young people feel positive about themselves, regardless of challenges they may face or how others may view them.

Meet the Instructor: Susan Dannen is a Licensed Independent Social Worker with over 25 years of experience in the mental health field. Susan trained at Jane Addams College of Social Work, University of Illinois Chicago for her MSW and specializes in child and adult mental health, anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, play therapy, foster care, and adoption.

Susan has held positions as an in-home therapist, day treatment therapist, school-based therapist, outpatient therapist, hospital/clinic therapist, program supervisor, and director. She has served as a trainer/writer for the Minnesota Child Welfare Training System, and as an Adjunct Professor at Adler Graduate School. She is passionate about educating and supporting others to find hope and healing.

The Monroe County Health Council is seeking a Transportation Project Director to lead an exciting initiative that improves access and mobility in our community.

👉JOB TITLE: Transportation Project Director
💲COMPENSATION: Part-Time @ $20/hr for 20~25 hrs/wk through June 2026 (Possibility of position/project continuation - TBD)

The Transportation Project Director will work closely with the S.A.F.E.P.A.T.H. consortium members to plan, coordinate, and implement the ‘Transportation Project,’ which was developed from grant-funded summits and meetings held in 2025. These summits and meetings brought community agencies and stakeholders together to discuss transportation-related problems in the county and to develop solutions for the identified transportation barriers. The issues discussed were those that citizens face, which limit their access to care and services in Monroe County.

TRANSPORTATION DIRECTOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Communicate with S.A.F.E.P.A.T.H. consortium members to align activities with transportation project goals and objectives
· Communicate with the community at large to coordinate transportation project meetings
· Distribute financial resources and incentives as deemed necessary and permissible for project partners
· Provide transportation project reports to S.A.F.E.P.A.T.H. consortium at monthly and/or quarterly meetings
· Record feedback from project partners to ensure quality delivery of programming and continuous improvement,

REQUIREMENTS:
· Valid driver’s license
· Associates or bachelor’s degree preferred
· 2 references, preferably one personal and one professional
· Passed background check & hiring screening

SKILLS & QUALITIES:
· Desire & ability to develop and nurture community partnerships
· Professional & effective communication skills for public relations
· Confidence coordinating/collaborating/hosting meetings with community stakeholders
· Resourceful and creative
· Passionate about making a difference.

This is a grant-funded position with the S.A.F.E.P.A.T.H. consortium, overseen by the Monroe County Health Council, with a grant end date of June 30, 2026. Possibility of position/project continuation - TBD
