🚨 Did You Know: New Guidance Alert! 🚨

CPR guidance is evolving—and it’s important to stay up to date.

🧠 Studies are showing that lack of oxygen to the brain during cardiac arrest can impact a person’s ability to return to normal life after resuscitation.

💡 What does this mean?

-Compressions are essential
-Breaths matter more than we once thought
-Being prepared to give both can make a real difference

That’s why we emphasize:
✔ Proper, up-to-date training
✔ Building confidence in full CPR skills
✔ Using barrier devices so you can provide breaths safely and comfortably

❤️ The goal isn’t just survival—it’s quality of life after.

🚑 Q&A Time!

How often should you take a CPR class?

Certification is valid for 2 years—but let’s be honest, most of us aren’t using these skills every day. That’s why refreshing your training every couple of years is so important to stay confident and ready when it matters most.

💡 Staying up to date could help you save a life.

🔥 New Guidance Alert: Treating Hyperthermia (Heat Stroke)

When it comes to severe heat illness, cooling FAST can save a life.

The latest guidance emphasizes:
👉 Rapid cooling is critical for suspected heat stroke
👉 Don’t delay cooling while waiting for EMS
👉 Use the fastest method available

💡 What does that look like?
✔️ Cold water immersion (if possible)
✔️ Ice packs to neck, armpits, and groin
✔️ Continuous cooling until help arrives

🚫 Outdated myth: “Cool them slowly”
➡️ New approach: COOL FIRST, COOL FAST

Signs of heat stroke:
⚠️ Altered mental status (confusion, unconsciousness)
⚠️ Hot skin (may be dry or sweaty)
⚠️ High body temperature

📞 Call 911 immediately if you suspect heat stroke.

Stay prepared. Stay informed. You might save a life.

Q&A time! 👇

One of the most common questions we get during training:

👉 Where do I place my hands for CPR?

Getting this right is CRITICAL for effective compressions.

💡 Quick tip:
Place the heel of your hand on the lower half of the breastbone (sternum) — just above the xiphoid process.

Why it matters:
✔️ Too high = ineffective compressions
✔️ Too low = risk of injury
✔️ Just right = best chance to circulate blood ❤️

Confidence comes from practice!
