Navigating the holidays can be tough, especially when it comes to boundaries. Remember, it's okay to prioritize you as much as possible. I know that can be hard especially when you have demanding family or you're trying to make things great for the kiddos but always have yourself in mind as well!

sometimes i forget
just how simple it is
i heard a story the other day that reminded me
it was about a man who was learning to pray
for his very first time
there is something sweet about that
when he asked how, the teacher pulled an empty chair close to where the man was laying in his bed
just imagine God sitting here
in the chair
“what would you say?”
well i don’t know, said the man
i guess i’d say i’m scared
ok...what else?
and sorry for messing up my life
anything else?
no. i don’t really know what else to say
“then that’s all”
that’s all, the man asked back surprised
“yep. in fact you don’t even need to say anything at all if you don’t want”
“sometimes there just aren’t words for what a heart is feeling”
“you can just sit there”
“in His presence”
“and just be loved”
and then i thought
sometimes we pray for help
and God loves to help
and sometimes we pray for comfort
and He loves to do that too
and sometimes we say sorry
and He is so quick to pick us up
but sometimes our hearts don’t have the words
and maybe during those times we can pray for another reason
just to be loved
and that’s it
just time to pull the chair close
and hear Him pull up His
and feel the tender kiss on our forehead
the kind that feels like home
no requests. no to-dos. no words. not today.
just be loved
sit and be loved
could be your favorite kind of prayer
pretty sure it is His

One step at a time. 🌼

Posted • It’s not all or nothing. It’s not today or no day. It’s really a little today, and a little tomorrow, and a little the next, and well, you get it. The rush to “fix” it won’t fix it, and the pressure for perfection only paralyzes, but that doesn’t mean what what you do, in all its small starts and glorious strides isn’t so darn important. You are so darn important, so take your time. Peace comes in pieces. ❤️
