Don’t worry about being “out of shape” or a beginner… because that’s only temporary! Just remember, we all have to start from somewhere and it’s never too late to change your life. CrossFit is the principal strength and conditioning program for many police academies and tactical operations teams, military special operations units, champion martial artists, and hundreds of other elite and professio

nal athletes worldwide. Our program delivers a fitness that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive. Combat, survival, many sports, and life reward this kind of fitness and, on average, punish the specialist. The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience. We’ve used our same routines for elderly individuals with heart disease and cage fighters one month out from televised bouts. We scale load and intensity; we don’t change programs. The needs of Olympic athletes and our grandparents differ by degree not kind. Our terrorist hunters, skiers, mountain bike riders and housewives have found their best fitness from the same regimen.

Each day there will be a WOD (Workout of the Day) on the board so everyone does the same workout. They are designed to be random and intense, because INTESITY = RESULTS! However, they can be scaled or modified to your ability or fitness level. During your first week, we will spend the majority of the class going over the fundamentals for the movements. Afterward, you will do a WOD that will be related to what you just learned. 💪Henry has been a dedicated member of our community from early on, and his consistency, character, and strength continue to inspire us all.

🤓Read on below for 10 questions about his decade of CrossFit.

1. What made you start CrossFit 10 years ago?

I was 30 years old, 275lbs, 5’8” with high blood pressure and starting to have other issues and my Dr said I would have a heart attack before 40 if I didn’t change my life style

2. What’s your proudest CrossFit moment so far?

Helping people with movements or when I finally deadlifted 501lbs

3. Have you had any big breakthroughs either physically or mentally?

breakthrough mentally by seeing how far I’ve come from workouts when I started vs now

4. How has the CrossFit community impacted your life?

Giving me great friends and great opportunities to travel and really venture out of my comfort zone from Hyrox to tough mudder to lifting with a great group of people

5. What motivates you to keep showing up after all these years?

To stay off medication and food

6. What’s one movement you still love, one you still dread?

Squat cleans and dread DUs and burpees

7. Do you have a favorite CrossFit memory or funny moment?

Meeting my fiance at CrossFit and getting to marry her in September

8. If you could go back and give your 2015 self one piece of CrossFit advice what would it be?

Don’t be in a rush to start doing RX workouts and to work on technique first

9. What would you say to someone who was just starting out?

Don’t over think the workouts just move and have fun and log your scores to see how far you come from year to year

10. What’s the biggest non-gym benefit you’ve gained from CrossFit?

I can eat how I want in moderation
