Faith, Healing and the Gift of Twins
Long before I met my husband, I always carried a quiet dream in my heart — that one day I would have twins.
I didn’t know how or when, but the vision of two little souls coming into my life always felt certain.
A few years into our marriage, we decided we were ready to start our family. Like many couples, we followed all the advice — monitoring cycles, planning carefully, and hoping each month would bring good news.
But month after month, nothing happened.
Eventually we spoke to our gynaecologist, who suggested IUI. We took the weekend to think about it, but something inside me didn’t feel settled with that path. Instead, I felt strongly that IVF was the direction we needed to take.
My husband, Dion, supported my decision completely, and soon after we began our journey with the incredible team at Medfem.
Those early mornings at the clinic — often 5am appointments — introduced us to many other couples walking the same road. Some were on their second round of IVF, others on their fifth or sixth. In those waiting rooms we heard stories of heartbreak, resilience, and hope.
It was a deeply emotional time.
But through it all, my faith grew stronger.
I held on to the quiet certainty in my heart that our twins were already part of our story.
During this time I began researching everything I could about IVF success and complementary therapies that could support the process. Again and again, I came across studies and experiences highlighting the benefits of acupuncture.
I found an incredible acupuncturist who supported me throughout the entire IVF journey.
Treatments were frequent, sometimes every second day, and alongside acupuncture he also prescribed traditional Chinese herbs. I didn’t understand every detail of the medicine, but I trusted the process and remained focused on the dream that had lived in my heart for so long.
By God’s grace, only two embryos were able to be implanted.
But deep down, I already believed my twins were on their way.
Two weeks later we returned for the pregnancy test.
And by the grace of God, the results confirmed it — I was pregnant with twins.
Even when I was gently cautioned not to become too hopeful, I held onto my faith, continued my treatments, and trusted the journey.
At 36 weeks, I gave birth to two beautiful, healthy babies.
Radhe and Shyam.
In just a month and a half, they will turn 18 years old.
Looking back now, I feel overwhelming gratitude — for the doctors at Medfem, for the acupuncturist who walked alongside me during that time, and most of all for the grace that carried us through.
This experience shaped not only my life as a mother, but also the way I understand healing, fertility, and the incredible resilience of the human body.
Today, supporting women on their own journeys to balance, fertility and wellness is deeply personal to me.
Because once upon a time, I was walking that path too.
