“You don’t move on because you are ready to. You move on because you’ve outgrown who you used to be.” - And Just Like That Season 2😘 I made a note in my phone on 10/18/23 with this quote, hoping that one day I would actually believe it. Clearly, I suddenly had a lot of time on my hands to be watching tv during the day😉
I had just handed in my resignation to an agency I had worked 16 years for. A place I believed was as loyal to me as I to them.
And despite already having a private practice that was flourishing, I put myself through mental hell for making a choice to be happy. I gave up the false sense of security that working for an agency can have. Spent the next 9 months trying to adapt to a professional life without a safety net. And here 1 year later, I still question my purpose and most days feel a little lost. But when I get in front of my clients or get the honor of sitting with a couple in their most vulnerable state, I get the sense that I am spiritually aligned and in my purpose for this moment. But man is entrepreneurship a mind screw! Until the next growth spurt!!!! Cheers to one year without a safety net and over 5 years in business🥳

This is life changing info for me!😳⚡️
Motivation is not just something some people have and others lack.
I have spent countless days, months, and years shaming myself for “not feeling motivated.”
No more!🥰

It seems I HAVE been on the right path lately!! Refocusing more on self-compassion and implementing it into my work with others…. bringing it home… allowing for it.

This morning, my daily devotional gave me a wink 😘 and reassurance that I am in fact where I should be…. 5 years in private practice ( despite the daily feeling that I should be looking for a “secure” job on indeed🤦🏻‍♀️🤣).

~The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness.” —JEREMIAH 31:3

LOVINGKINDNESS. One major piece of COMPASSION. For me compassion, is the healing balm, the spiritual practice, the remedy for all things….
We are a witness to so much daily suffering in our lives . Sometimes it can be almost paralyzing. Facebook prayer requests, breaking news…. often I find myself saying “ sending prayers “ with a 🙏🏻😘 and not even taking a second to pause and actually send the prayer before I move on to the next horrible thing.
Even being an advocate and ally can fall flat. Posting the memes, wearing a cute pair of sneakers with rainbows on them…

Wishing others well and offering lovingkindness is a powerful energy shift. But when we want to take it a step further
and exercise compassion, we have to act.

In this article ( see comments for link) the author separates out the energetic lovingkindness and the action of compassion so beautifully.

“Lovingkindness (mettā) sets our minds to wish all people and all things well, but compassion (karunā) asks, ‘What are you going to do about it? How will you participate in helping others be relieved from their suffering?’ “

When we feel this world is just drowning in suffering, we can ask ourselves:
How will I help alleviate suffering today?

While keeping the lovingkindness flowing of course🙏🏻😘

It does feel like the right path. So for now… I’ll keep going on this private practice journey to share this with others, help them build self acceptance and self kindness…so that they might share it with the world around them.
