🌟 Did you know that the Vagus Nerve starts at the root of your mouth? 🤯 It’s one of the most important nerves in your body, controlling so many vital functions, including your metabolism and weight! 🌱

🔹 The Vagus Nerve is part of the Autonomic Nervous System, which manages functions you don't have to think about, like your heartbeat and digestion.
🔹 It’s the longest nerve in your body, stretching from your brainstem all the way to your abdomen.
🔹 It controls breathing, digestion, sleep, and even your mood! 😴🧘‍♀️
🔹 This nerve plays a huge role in calming your fight-or-flight response and managing anxiety.
🔹 It helps regulate muscle movements, especially those involved in swallowing and speaking. 🗣️
🔹 A healthy Vagus Nerve is linked to better heart health, improved digestion, and a greater sense of calm overall! 🧘‍♂️💖
🔹 Metabolism & Weight: The Vagus Nerve plays a key role in regulating metabolism, appetite, and food intake. It helps signal to your brain when you're full and supports your body's ability to burn fat efficiently. A balanced Vagus Nerve means your metabolism works optimally, supporting healthy weight management. ⚖️

As a Myofunctional Therapist, one of the biggest goals is to help your tongue rest in the roof of your mouth. 🦷 Why is this so important? When the tongue is in the correct position, it helps the body self-regulate and supports optimal function of the Vagus Nerve! Without this, our bodies struggle to maintain balance.

Myofunctional Therapy focuses on exercises and techniques to help retrain your muscles, especially those in the mouth, jaw, and tongue. This therapy can improve breathing, swallowing, posture, and even help with snoring or sleep apnea!

✨ If you're curious about how Myofunctional Therapy could benefit you, reach out today and get a free 15 minute consultation to you can go online to book a full comprehensive evaluation! Let’s work together to create balance in your body, boost your metabolism, and improve your overall health. 🌿

🌱 Did You Know? GLP-1 is actually a hormone, not a trend! 🌿

GLP-1, or glucagon-like peptide-1, is a hormone that plays a huge role in regulating your appetite and blood sugar levels. It's produced in your intestines and helps you feel full after eating, which can be a game-changer for those looking to manage their weight or blood sugar.

Are you looking to lose weight but not ready to use medications? Or using them and would like more support to get the maximum benifits with out the muscle loss? You can help balance your GLP-1 levels naturally with the right diet! 🍽️ Here are a few tips:

💚 Fiber-Rich Foods: Include whole grains, fruits, and vegetables to support healthy GLP-1 production.
🥗 Protein-Packed Meals: Lean meats, legumes, and tofu can help stimulate GLP-1 and keep hunger at bay.
🧘‍♀️ Healthy Fats: Avocados, nuts, and olive oil are not only heart-healthy but also promote GLP-1 balance.

🍞 Low-Carb Options: Cutting back on processed carbs and refined sugars can help reduce blood sugar spikes, keeping your GLP-1 in a balanced state.

🕑 Eat Every 2-3 Hours: Keeping your blood sugar levels stable throughout the day is key! Eating smaller, balanced meals regularly can help prevent those blood sugar spikes and dips that leave you feeling sluggish.

🥑 Macronutrient Balance: Aim for a mix of protein, healthy fats, and complex carbs at every meal to keep GLP-1 in check and your energy levels steady.

Small changes in your eating habits can make a big difference in how your body regulates hunger and energy. So, let’s get balanced and feel our best! 🙌✨

🌟 Unlock the Power of a Strong Tongue for Better Sleep & Smile 🌟

As a Myofunctional Therapist, I focus on helping children develop optimal tongue posture, breathing, and swallowing habits. A strong, properly positioned tongue can make a world of difference in your child's health—starting with better sleep! 😴

🦷 How does this work? When the tongue is weak or in the wrong position, it can contribute to snoring, mouth breathing, and even poor sleep quality. By strengthening the tongue muscles, we encourage natural breathing through the nose and proper airway support during sleep.

✨ Bonus benefit: It works as a natural retainer! When we address tongue posture, we help align the teeth and jaws, reducing the need for traditional retainers. It's a holistic approach to improving your child's health—inside and out!

If you or your child struggles with sleep, snoring, or teeth alignment, reach out and let's explore how myofunctional therapy can make a positive change!

🧠💭 Did you know? Proper tongue placement is about more than just speech—it can affect everything from your breathing to your posture and overall health! 🤯

As a myofunctional therapist, I work to retrain the muscles of the mouth and the tongue for optimal function. One of the key goals is helping the tongue rest in the roof of the mouth, which plays a crucial role in:

👉 Proper nasal breathing
👉 Jaw alignment
👉 Improved posture
👉 Reduced tension in the face and neck

For many, sensory issues or poor habits can prevent the tongue from resting in its natural position, leading to mouth breathing, crooked teeth, or even difficulty concentrating. 😤

By addressing these patterns, we can retrain the muscles to work together more efficiently, supporting overall health and well-being! 🙌

If you're dealing with sensory issues, mouth breathing, or even tension in your face, don't hesitate to reach out. It's never too late to retrain your mouth for better health. 💪

Why Food Matters: Inflammation & Your Body

Your body is always sending you messages—especially when inflammation from what you eat starts to take over. 🌱🥗 The foods you choose can either fuel your energy or trigger problems like inflammation, which can show up in many ways.

Here are some signs your body may be sending about inflammation from what you eat:

🔥 Joint Pain & Stiffness – Swelling and discomfort can be linked to inflammation, often from diet.

🍅 Digestive Issues – Bloating, gas, or stomach cramps? Your digestive system might be reacting to foods that don’t sit well with your body.

😴 Fatigue & Poor Sleep – Constant tiredness or trouble sleeping could be a sign that inflammation is affecting your energy levels and sleep quality.

💥 Skin Breakouts – Acne, eczema, or other skin flare-ups are often tied to inflammation triggered by certain foods.

😣 Headaches – If you’re battling frequent headaches, they could be linked to food-induced inflammation.

🦠 Poor Immunity – Chronic inflammation weakens your immune system, making you more vulnerable to colds, infections, and other illnesses.

The good news? You have the power to help your body heal and thrive by making smarter food choices! Anti-inflammatory foods like lots of protein and fiber, fresh fruits, veggies, nuts, and healthy fats can reduce inflammation and boost immunity.

Your body deserves the best fuel. Start small, make changes, and notice how much better you feel. 🌟

🌿 Myofunctional Therapy: The Overlooked Key to Health 🦷

Did you know that how your teeth come together and the way your jaw develops can be a hidden root cause of countless health issues? 😮

The alignment of your bite and jaw doesn't just impact your smile—it plays a massive role in your overall well-being. When your bite is misaligned or your jaw isn't developing properly, it can weaken the body's "terrain," leaving you more vulnerable to a range of overlooked health problems.

From poor posture and chronic pain to digestive issues, sleep apnea, headaches, and even breathing difficulties, jaw development and bite occlusion are often missed factors in understanding the body's health. 🧠💡

✨ Myofunctional therapy helps address these issues by training the muscles of the mouth, tongue, and face to work properly. It's about more than just fixing your smile—it's about restoring balance to your whole system!

🌟 The best part? If we address these issues early on in children, we can change the entire trajectory of their health as they grow! By fostering proper jaw development from a young age, we set them up for better posture, fewer chronic issues, and overall better health in the long run.

Don't wait for problems to show up—see a myofunctional therapist or find a dentist who specializes in airway health to ensure your child (or even yourself) is on the right path to optimal well-being. 🦷💪

🚨 It’s not just airway people… It’s EVERYTHING. 🚨

When the tongue doesn’t sit on the palate, every part of human function gets disrupted. From sleep quality to how the body maps where it is in space — everything is affected.

We are failing in both medicine and dentistry by not protecting the function of the tongue.

Here’s why it matters:

💤 Sleep quality – Without proper tongue posture, we suffer from poor, shallow sleep, leading to a lifetime of inflammation and dysfunction.
🧠 Nervous system function – The body’s ability to know where it is in space and respond correctly relies on proper tongue positioning.
🫁 Breathing – Mouth breathing isn’t just annoying, it’s literally depriving your body of oxygen with every breath.

An entire life spent mouth breathing means less air with every single breath.

And yet, we’ve known about this for over 100 years.

This is why I became a Myofunctional Therapist.

Myofunctional therapy isn’t just a treatment — it’s a solution. And the results speak for themselves:

📊 90% of patients see improvement in their sleep quality after completing myofunctional therapy.
📊 80% of people report reduced anxiety and stress once they begin retraining their tongue posture.
📊 75% experience better breathing, fewer colds, and improved overall energy levels.

We can no longer ignore the foundational pillars of health: Breathing, sleeping, and nervous system function. These should be protected at all costs—it’s time to prioritize them for global health. 🌍

Someone needed another massage, this is his 2nd one this week. My kid has got the life 🤣
But massage does boost the immune system and has so many other health and healing benifits so I’ll do it anytime he asks 💙💆🏼

Did you know Massage is known for promoting increased circulation and lymphatic flow, which helps move healthy nutrients throughout your body and to filter metabolic waste. Studies show that massage can increase the level of lymphocytes, which are the cells that help the immune system fight off harmful substances in the body.

Chiropractic also helps keep the immune system strong and healthy. So don’t skip your body work appts during the winter months your body and immune system will thank you!

As a Myofunctional Therapist, I work with clients to resolve issues related to improper tongue posture and function. The most important functions our bodies perform are breathing, eating, and drinking. But did you know that the position of your tongue plays a crucial role in proper breathing and swallowing? If your tongue isn’t resting gently on the roof of your mouth, it can impair your ability to breathe correctly by limiting airflow through your nasal passages.

In addition, if your tongue is too weak to rest in this position, it’s likely that you're not swallowing properly either. Improper swallowing can lead to issues like poor digestion, tooth misalignment, and even jaw pain. So, maintaining the correct tongue posture not only supports healthy breathing but also promotes better swallowing and overall oral health!

When your tongue rests naturally against the roof of your mouth and your lips stay gently closed, you’re supporting optimal breathing, facial growth, and quality sleep. Small habits, BIG impact! 🌟

🎄 5 days until Christmas! 🎄

Can we just talk about how easy it is to let stress take over this time of year? 😅 Between wrapping up work, holiday prep, and all the extra gatherings, I’d normally be in full-on stress mode! But guess what? Over the past two weeks, I’ve made a change that’s been a total game-changer. 💪

I’ve held myself more accountable than I have all year, not just with my diet (so I feel better), but with my fitness routine too. I’ve been getting up at 5:30 AM every weekday to move my body—whether it’s a workout, yoga, or some kind of movement. And here’s the kicker—I’ve done it 11 out of the last 12 days! 🙌

The result? I feel AMAZING. No more stress. Just peace, energy, and the confidence that I’m doing something good for myself every single day.

Here’s the thing: I used to be consistent with my workouts before Jackson was born. Heck, I’m even a certified personal trainer! But I’ll admit it—I’ve made excuses. I’ve told myself I didn’t have time. Well, no more. I’m DONE with that. I’m making the time, and honestly? Each day, it’s getting easier to get out of bed.

Today, I almost let myself skip my workout after 10 minutes when Jackson woke up... but then I thought, “Why not have him join me?” 🤗 Now he’s seeing me prioritize healthy habits—and I want to show him that showing up for yourself is ALWAYS worth it. 💯

I’m so grateful for this shift, and I’m committed to carrying this momentum into the New Year. ✨ Who’s with me in making 2025 the year we stop making excuses and start showing up for ourselves every single day? 🙋‍♀️

💥 Who wants to join our accountability group to get more movement in? 💥

🎄Have you been struggling to get moving or fit in exercise since the holidays started? Me too. I tell myself every day that I’m going to work out, but then don’t. My son isn’t going to bed as early as he used to, so I’m no longer able to do my yoga at night, which has helped me so much in the past.🎄

This week, a few of my clients and I decided to hold each other accountable. We’re sending accountability texts in the mornings to check in and encourage each other to get our workouts in before the day starts! We’re on Day 2, and it already feels amazing. With all the extra commitments and stress that come with the holiday season, we really need this support right now.

🏋️‍♀️Exercise, movement, and even meditation are proven to have huge benefits on our mental health—from boosting mood and energy levels to reducing stress and anxiety. Even just a short session can help clear your mind and give you a sense of calm and control, which is so important when life feels hectic. And let’s be real, the holidays can be overwhelming!

Would you like to join us? I’m extending an invite to anyone who could use a little extra push, whether it’s for some stretching, a quick walk, yoga, a workout, or even meditation. We’re just sending accountability texts at 6 a.m., but you can join us at any time that works for you and in whatever way feels best. Just having a group to support each other helps keep us from hitting the snooze button one more time!

Send me a DM or comment below and I will add you to the group ⬇️
