Children are still learning how to process and regulate their emotions. See their emotions as data- take it as information to help you figure out what is driving those big emotions. Once you shift to this mindset, their emotions will become less likely to trigger your own emotions. Also look at your emotions as data- what do you need? What led you to feel frustrated? Maybe you need to take some time to fill your cup too.

Showing up, listening, and supporting them through challenges helps build the confidence they carry for life. And when we don’t get it just right, what they need most is a parent willing to restore, reconnect, and try again.

- Button batteries: Found in remotes, toys, watches, hearing aids, key fobs, calculators, etc.

Time is critical. Even one swallowed battery can cause severe internal burns and tissue damage in as little as 15 minutes to 2 hours.

- Magnets: If more than one is swallowed, they can attract inside the intestines and cause life-threatening injury.

- Small toys & toy parts: Follow age recommendations and check floors often, especially if older siblings are in the home.

- Food hazards:�• Cut grapes and cherry tomatoes (anything round) into quarters.�• Avoid whole nuts and popcorn for young children (wait at least until 4-5 years of age).�• Cut hot dogs lengthwise, then into small pieces.�• Spread peanut butter thinly (not in spoonfuls).
Toddlers should sit while eating.
Supervise during meals, choking is silent.
