📚 Back to School at La Amistad Academy: Structure, Support & Self-Advocacy
As we prepare for the official start of the school year, our amazing La Amistad Academy , including our passionate teachers and Director of Education, are already hard at work creating a supportive, engaging and therapeutic learning environment for our adolescents.
In our recent discussion with the team, they shared their excitement about implementing fresh classroom ideas and fostering academic and emotional growth year-round. La Amistad Academy is more than a school; it’s a vital part of our residential and day programs, where education and mental health support go hand in hand.
🎒 If you know an adolescent who would benefit from this holistic approach to healing and learning, we’re here to help.
This month, our alumni theme is evolution. Recovery isn’t a straight line, it’s about molding, shifting, stumbling and ultimately growing. True growth means more than just surviving; it’s evolving into something stronger and more resilient.
We’re taking time this August to reflect on what real progress looks like, and we want you to be a part of it. If you’re an alumni, we invite you to come back, reconnect and grow with us. You’re part of a beautiful and ever-evolving community.
Join us for our next alumni group!

This playful, restorative gathering brought together providers, advocates and community members for a much-needed dose of laughter, movement and mindfulness.
At La Amistad, we believe healing happens in connection and sometimes, that connection includes a curious goat or two. From stress relief to shared smiles, this event reminded us that mental wellness can be nurtured in creative, inclusive ways.
