La Amistad Behavioral Health Services was the proud recipient of the 2024 Universal Health Services, Inc. - UHS Quality Award!

This week, we were honored to host a celebration with our corporate leaders and our dedicated team of to recognize this prestigious achievement. This award was presented by UHS leadership, including Executive Vice President and President, Behavioral Health Division, Matt Peterson and Senior Vice President, Chief Clinical Officer, UHS, Behavioral Health Division, Karen E. During the celebration, we recognized our tenured staff with over 30 years of service, honored our Service Excellence Award winner, and heard inspiring words from our clinical and leadership teams about what it means to carry forward La Amistad’s mission.

At La Amistad, we’re a family. We are united by purpose, guided by empathy, and fulfilled by the opportunity to touch the lives of others. Our guiding principle remains unchanged after more than two decades:

“Be a program you’d want to send your own family to.”

It’s this philosophy that continues to drive our work, shape our culture, and remind us that at La Amistad, hope is always within reach.

PHP vs. IOP — What’s the Difference?

Understanding the levels of care in mental health treatment is key to finding the right support. Our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) offers structured, daytime treatment for individuals requiring intensive support, while our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) provides a more flexible, part-time approach to therapy. Each program is designed to meet different needs on the path to recovery.

September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness about a stigmatized and often taboo topic. This month, we aim to shift public perception, spread hope and share vital information with those affected by suicide. Our goal is to ensure individuals, friends and families have access to the resources they need to talk about suicide prevention and seek help.

If you or someone you know needs support now, call or text 988. The Suicide and Crisis hotline will connect you with a trained crisis counselor who can help.
