Due to the anticipated effects of Hurricane Milton in our area:

We will be closed due to the hurricane Wednesday and Thursday, October 9-10th.

We will monitor the weather and evaluate clinic conditions after the storm passes and will notify you if there are any changes to this schedule. �
Your child’s therapist(s) will be in touch directly about home and community based sessions based on safety and availability.

We are waiting for direction from our local school districts and emergency management, but families should plan on closure(s) and cancellations this week due to the impending storm. We will provide more information as it becomes available.

Tropical Storm Helene is approaching Florida and there are now warnings issued for our area. Seminole County Public Schools have announced their closures. We will be closed on Thursday September 26th and plan on reopening on Friday, 9/27 based on weather and conditions. As we have communicated in the past, our therapists are independent contractors, and individual sessions will be based on the availability of your child’s therapist.

Please stay safe through the storms and we look forward to resuming our regularly scheduled sessions!

Potential Tropical Storm Helena is expected to hit Florida as a Category 3 hurricane and the question now is where and when. We have a tropical storm watch for our area at this point. We will continue to monitor this storm and stay in communication about any cancellations or closures. As of right now, Governor DeSantis has already declared a state of emergency for most of the state of Florida.

We have some exciting news to share. We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve teamed up with Dana Halle, Executive Director of the Down Syndrome Foundation of Orange County and Dr. Sean Smith at Kansas University to launch a new online program—the Empowered Learning Community! 🎉

With over 60 years of combined experience in education, our goal is to collaborate with families to enhance educational outcomes for learners with Down syndrome. While our program currently focuses on early learners (Pre-K to early elementary), we’re already planning to expand to higher grade levels next year. 📚

We’ll be offering rotating 4-week modules, starting with reading and continuing with topics like behavior, learning readiness, math, inclusive practices, and the use of Tech/AI.

We’d love for you to join us on this exciting journey and be part of a community dedicated to empowering learners and their families!
