Please welcome Dr. R. Scott Lowery to Eye Physicians of Central Florida. He is a Pediatric Ophthalmologist specializing in eye muscle disorders, double vision, amblyopia, and strabismus. In addition he treats children for lacriminal system disorders, and eyelid conditions, pediatric cataracts, and retinopathy of prematurity. He has spent the last twenty years as a Professor of Pediatic Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Jones Eye Institute and Arkansas Children’s Hospital. During this time he served as the Chief of Pediatric Ophthalmology at Arkansas Children’s Hospital. He also spent over twelve of those years as an Attending Ophthalmologist at Central Arkansas Veterans’ Hospital where he helped veterans with double vision and trained residents in cataract surgery. Just before moving to Florida, he was selected as one of the top five Ophthalmologists in Arkansas by the largest newspaper, and has won various teaching awards, ect.

After nearly four decades of dedicated service, Dr. Robert S. Gold will be retiring from Eye Physicians of Central Florida at the end of this year. In July 1987, Dr. Gold joined his cousin, Dr. Michael Zamore, in practice in Winter Park, FL. After Dr. Zamore’s passing in 2000, Dr. Gold carried on his cousin’s legacy, leading the practice with compassion and dedication. Under his guidance, the practice has continued to thrive and grow.

Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Gold has made an incredible impact in the field of pediatric eye care, earning the trust and admiration of countless families. His compassion, expertise, and commitment to excellence have set the standard for care in our community and beyond.

Over the years, Dr. Gold has had the joy of watching many of his young patients grow up—some of whom now bring their own children to him for eye care. His legacy of warmth, professionalism, and unwavering dedication—along with his signature songs that brought smiles to so many patients—will continue to inspire our team and those fortunate enough to have known his care.

We are excited to welcome Dr. Munjal Pandya, M.D. to our team! Dr. Pandya is a fellowship-trained cornea specialist with expertise in treating cornea and external diseases, corneal cross-linking, cataracts, and comprehensive eye care including diabetic retinopathy, pterygium removals and glaucoma suspect patients. He completed his medical degree at the University of Florida College of Medicine and went on to an ophthalmology residency at the University of South Carolina/Prisma Health-Midlands, where he served as Academic Chief Resident. Dr. Pandya completed his fellowship in Corneal, External Diseases, and Refractive Surgery at the prestigious Storm Eye Institute/Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.

We are thrilled to have his advanced training and compassionate care here for patients. Welcome, Dr. Pandya, he is now accepting new patients!
