Fascia is the buzzword, not intended to be ignored. I'm so happy to share and spread this information to any and everyone. Most people think and believe where they see the dysfunction is where the problem is. That couldn't be further from the truth. As Dr. Ida Rolf says "Where it is, it isn't." Think of fascia as a beautiful and supportive webbing that surrounds and supports all tissues throughout the body. If this strong but equally sensitive tissue is disrupted a chain reaction will start to happen throughout the body. This creates challenges and impared mobility and function of what lies beneath. Unlike muscle, fascia cannot be released by contraction (because it cannot contract on its own) rather it must be manually manipulated to restore balance and bloodflow to the system.

Try this... for those who experience tight hips. Use a foam roller or tennis ball and roll out your IT Band (runs along the outside of the thigh, from just above the hip to just below the knee). Within minutes you'll feel the relief from the release. Full disclosure, if you've never done this, it may be uncomfortable. However, the reward is definitely worth it. Horses share a similar experience and within days of a fascial session have been known to change in a remarkable way. Just like humans, there is a series of sessions to fully restore tensigrity but, your horse will still thank you after 1.

Horses don't have the option to experience placebo. What you see is what you get. According to these two, I'd say they feel pretty good and pretty safe since they're falling asleep. This will never, ever, get old.
