It was beautiful to watch the change in the making while training Los Angeles Police Department Senior Lead officers and LA based Community Members in Mediation last week at Pepperdine Caruso School of Law - Straus Institute and at the Union Rescue Mission, alongside the wonderful colleague and brother Shaphan Roberts, who put timeless energy to produce a terrific training. So many lessons learned but to share one: I knew that the power of people's connection is motivating but this work was not just rewarding, it was fulfilling and it is needed to heal. Heal our minds and heal our souls. Looking forward to many more of these dialogues at the national/international level.

A wonderful evening with my Straus Family. Morning: board meeting for Weinstein International Foundation at San Francisco with judge Daniel Weinstein and evening: Pepperdine Caruso Law dinner at Beverly Wiltshire in LA alongside my Pepperdine Caruso School of Law - Straus Institute colleagues: Helen Winter, PhD, LLM, Peter Robinson, Veronica Basadre, Evelyn Valtier, Jennifer Kim, Peter Robinson and Deborah Jasmin. We attended the dinner to honor, Dean Ronald Phillips of Pepperdine University for his 54 years of service to the field of law and to a community of 9,000 plus attorney’s!

After days of recovery following illness, I went out today to have lunch with Judge Tom Lewis (Retd.), an accomplished mediator and senior fellow, Straus Institute. We discussed the role of mediators in bringing peace to the world besides sharing how each one of us can further work on ourselves to better our society. A true honor to listen and to learn.
