We are excited to share that our Emergency Department has officially achieved the bronze standard Level 3 Geriatric Emergency Department (GED) accreditation. This accomplishment is the result of the outstanding efforts of our interdisciplinary leadership team, including Joanne McDonough, MD; Jessica Sullivan, RN; and additional colleagues. We are delighted to introduce Cassandra Law, DO, as the latest addition to our OB/GYN and Midwifery team. Dr. Law comes with extensive experience and a genuine passion for fostering meaningful relationships with her patients. Her expertise will enhance the exceptional care that our women's health team is renowned for.

Originally from Queensbury, Dr. Law began her journey at Saratoga Hospital as a Phlebotomist in 2012, where she worked for a year before pursuing medical school. We are incredibly excited to welcome her back to the team!

Congratulations to Samantha Bliss, BSN, RN, CCRN (ICU) for receiving a DAISY Award!

"At 78 years old, I have struggled with poor health literacy, and any interaction regarding my health causes me a great deal of anxiety. Samantha not only understood my concerns but went above and beyond to provide the support I needed. She was patient, kind, and sympathetic. She took the time to sit down with me and help calm my nerves. Even when the information was difficult to comprehend, Samantha made sure I felt heard and not rushed. She displayed remarkable competence in explaining my treatment and prognosis. While she was firm with me when needed, it was always in a way that was respectful and thoughtful, helping me understand the importance of taking care of myself.

But what truly made her stand out was her personal touch. To help ease my anxiety, Samantha shared some photos of her dog and children. It may seem small, but it made a world of difference to me. It reminded me that I wasn't just a patient in a hospital room—I was a person who mattered. Samantha’s kindness, patience, and professionalism went beyond what I ever expected. She truly made a difficult time more bearable, and I am so grateful for the difference she made in my care.
