Hi, I’m Amy 👋
Pediatric OT, homeschool mom, and believer in slow childhoods and sensory-rich days.

We’re new to homeschool and learning as we go — prioritizing connection, curiosity, and child development over checkboxes.

This space is all about:
✨ Supporting development
🌿 Reclaiming childhood
🏕️ Learning through adventure
❤️ Creating a life that fits our kids

Whether you’re here for sensory tips, homeschool inspo, or just trying to figure out how to raise regulated humans — welcome.
You’ve found a community that sees you and your child.

Let’s grow together — one adventure at a time. 💛

After over a decade as a pediatric OT, here’s what I didn’t learn from textbooks…

The nervous system is always speaking — through movement, through behavior, through “big energy” and meltdowns.
And our job isn’t to manage it. It’s to support it.

✅ More nature
✅ More freedom
✅ More connection
✅ Less pressure
✅ Less overthinking
✅ More trust in the child

If you’re a parent or provider walking this journey — know that less can actually be more when it comes to development.

After years in the clinic and now years at home, I’ve seen the same pattern:

Parents carrying the weight of “fixing” their child…

When what they really need is permission — to slow down, to trust their instincts, to value the little things that feel like nothing but are actually everything.

I wish more parents knew that the most powerful therapy is found in connection, play, and presence.

Your kid doesn’t need perfect.
They need you — regulated, supported, and present.

What would you add to this list?

Sometimes it’s not that the reflex work didn’t “stick.”
It’s that your child is under more stress than their nervous system can handle.

As a pediatric OT, I’ve seen it over and over again: reflexes that were integrated resurface when kids feel overwhelmed — and return to baseline once the stress is removed.

This is not a failure.
It’s the body asking for support.

Before jumping into more exercises, check in on:
💡 the environment
💡 the demands
💡 the connection
💡 the stress behind the struggle

Because regulation doesn’t start with movement.
It starts with safety.

So many parents are told it’s “just sensory” — but when we dig deeper, we find unintegrated reflexes quietly disrupting regulation, focus, and daily life.

As a pediatric OT, I believe behavior is communication — and reflex retention is often the missing link in that conversation.

It’s not about labeling your child. It’s about understanding their nervous system so we can meet them with the support they truly need.

Welcome to sensory tOT spot Occupational Therapy!

“Because life doesn’t happen in a clinic and neither should your child’s therapy.”

My name is Amy. I am a Pediatric Occupational Therapist, Mommy to 3 littles, and the Founder of sensory tOT spot Occupational Therapy. I have a passion for helping children reach their developmental milestones, improve function, and live their best life. I’m a firm believer that all children are capable of being happy, healthy, and thriving in all areas of development regardless of their abilities. I support your child and family in making this possible through skilled intervention, teaching, and support in your child’s natural environment. I travel to you, where your child needs the most support, whether that may be at home, at daycare, at the grocery store, at the hairdresser, or even during gymnastics or swim lessons. I offer affordable and flexible scheduling options with focus on prevention and wellness. Full evaluations, individual treatment, and consultations are available; contact me today for a free phone consultation to see how I can help your child improve function, participation, and quality of life.
