Busy Day, a few people off….
The doctors slowed down… slightly, for 5 minutes …. to eat a quick lunch, the three assistants worked and ate, never complaining - at least where I could hear! 😂 However we can’t forget our great CSR’s and Animal Care Providers also (even if they did get lunch 😜) Such a hardworking team!

Our Story

Dr. Hughes has been practicing veterinary medicine since graduating from LSU School of Veterinary Medicine in 1989. He opened his original practice in Malvern in the fall of 1989 and sold it in the fall of 2013. After pursuing other interests for a few years while also providing relief veterinary services outside of Hot Spring County, he opened a new practice, also named Hughes Animal Hospital, in February 2017. He practiced out of a temporary location while his new clinic was under construction. Dr. Hughes moved into the new building in late September 2017. He is located at 853 Henry Street in Malvern, the former location of KFC. Look for his big green sign on top of the hill!
