Today is Global Hug Your Kids Day — a heartfelt reminder of the power of presence and the impact of a simple gesture.

In the rush of daily life, it’s easy to overlook how much a hug can mean. But for a child, it can be everything — a source of comfort, a sign of security, and a foundation for lifelong emotional strength.

Take a moment today to slow down. Hug your children. Let them feel seen, safe, and loved. Those small moments are what build strong families — and stronger futures.

Healthy Connections was proud to take part in the 2025 THV11 Summer Cereal Drive benefiting Arkansas Foodbank—and the numbers tell the story. Across all of our clinic locations, we collected an incredible 3,575 boxes of cereal to help feed children and families in need across Arkansas.

This year marked the 25th anniversary of the cereal drive, and it was the biggest yet. With support from organizations and individuals across the state, THV11 and Arkansas Foodbank collected a record-breaking 576,725 items—all going directly to local food banks and pantries.

Our participation in this effort reflects our commitment to Community, Compassion, and Excellence. As a Federally-Qualified Health Center (FQHC), Healthy Connections believes that health starts with access—access to care, access to resources, and access to the basic needs that make a healthy life possible.

We’re deeply grateful to every coworker, patient, community member, and local business who donated and helped us along the way. Whether you gave one box or hundreds, you made a difference. Your generosity helped us earn the “Snap, Crackle N’ Poppin Spirit Award” at the Breakfast of Champions—an honor we share with all of you.

It's , and today we're spotlighting Jennifer Scott, APRN, of our Hot Springs Chippewa Clinic.

Jennifer brings a combination of deep knowledge, proactive care, and genuine compassion that resonates with her patients. Known for her attentiveness and her ever-present smile, she makes each visit personal and productive. Patients appreciate how prepared she is the moment she walks in the room, how she truly listens, and how committed she is to finding the right solutions—whether that means treating directly or connecting patients with the right specialists. This is what Excellence looks like at Healthy Connections.

Beginning in August, Jennifer will also be seeing patients at the Jessieville School’s Lions Health and Wellness Clinic—alongside Matt York, APRN. Both will continue to see patients at their primary clinics in Hot Springs as well. Five-star service isn’t the exception—it’s the expectation. Healthy Connections providers have been active in the community this week, continuing our mission of Community, Compassion, and Excellence. In Texarkana, Mandilyn Cottingham, APRN, and Evolve Behavioral Health therapist Lashanda Renee Fears, LPC, represented our Texarkana clinic at the July Homeless Coalition meeting. Their presentation at the HCI Lunch & Learn helped raise awareness of the comprehensive services we provide, including primary care, behavioral health, dental, HIV care, and addiction treatment.

Meanwhile, in Haskell, Family Nurse Practitioner Leslie Collie, APRN, spoke at Birchtree Communities on the importance of proper handwashing in preventing the spread of illness. We’re proud of our providers who step beyond the clinic walls to educate and connect with our communities.
