March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month 💙

Did you know that colorectal cancer is one of the most preventable cancers when caught early? Screening can detect precancerous polyps and early stage cancer before symptoms even begin.

Many people avoid screening because they think a colonoscopy is the only option—but that’s not true. While a colonoscopy is the gold standard, there are other screening options available depending on your risk factors and medical history.

Other screening options include:
✔ Cologuard – an at-home stool test that looks for abnormal DNA and blood in the stool.
✔ Shield blood test – a blood test available for many Medicare patients that can help screen for colorectal cancer.

Screening is typically recommended starting at age 45, or earlier for those with certain risk factors.

Don’t wait for symptoms. Early detection saves lives.

Due to the severity of ice in the parking lot, we will remained closed Tuesday. We do not want to risk the safety of our patients and staff falling in the parking lot.
