EXCELLENT OPPORTUNITY

FREE Classes for Foster and Adoptive Parents
Registration is now open for January classes for foster and adoptive parents. January's module is TBRI Caregiver Training: Correcting Principles.
TBRI® is Trust-Based Relational Intervention. It is an attachment-based, trauma-informed intervention that is designed to meet the complex needs of vulnerable children. This module will teach parents how to address a child’s behavioral issues in a positive way using proactive and responsive strategies.
Remember: each module is broken into two parts. To get all the information for that module, you'll need to attend both class sessions, but will still benefit if you're only able to attend one.

Thanks to the ASU TR Health Fair for having us on Thursday! We were able to share a lot of information about the services we provide including no cost therapy for those with no insurance or high deductibles.

We sincerely have an amazing team of therapists and I'm so grateful for them!

Also on Thursday, my intern Laken and I went back to my old stomping grounds and spoke with the 8th grade Career Class at Poyen High School about the career of social work. What a great group of kids!

It is not uncommon for people to come in the office with a history of trauma that also involved bullying.

We often think that once the bully is removed, that symptoms will go away. The nervous system takes inventory and it often surfaces again as social anxiety as the person gets older.

If you would like to schedule an appointment, please call (501)239-1515.

📱In honor of September being Su***de Prevention Month, we feel like we should have a good chat with our Leopard Family. 🧡

Social media use can impact the mental health of our youth. We’ve uploaded a new resource on our website to help parents and caregivers understand the risks and support healthy online habits for their children. It contains many facts and key data points surrounding the overuse of screens and social media. It's everyone's job to help us all understand the risks and minimize harm to our children. Visit our district website at malvernleopards.org and open the site menu to find out more about how you can make a difference on and off social media, "Social Media & Mental Health".

Let’s work together to keep our Leopards safe and healthy! 🩺🐾

September is National Su***de Prevention Month.

*988 is the su***de prevention hotline number if you know somebody in crisis.

People are often hesitant to start therapy and discuss their intrusive thoughts for fear of hospitalization. They often feel shamed for seeking out help. Therefore they will mask their feelings and try to move forward.

We have a team of very skilled therapists that are compassionate, non-judgmental and care about what you're going through. We work closely with your medical providers to ensure the best possible care for you. We will help guide you to better mental health.

To schedule an appointment, please call 501.229.1515. You are worth fighting for.

I highly encourage parents with special needs children to educate yourself about your child's diagnosis. You are your child's best advocate.

Being a special needs parent can sometimes be isolating. Becoming educated and connecting with others can be one of your best things that you do not only for your child but yourself.

Here is a conference that is coming up that I thought I would share!

As election season is upon us, I want to be clear that we do not own the parking lot beside the building. It is owned by the city and unfortunately we can't always control the activity that goes on.

However, if you are a client of 3rd & Main Mental Health and you have been made to feel uncomfortable in any way, please reach out to me so I can address it.

As always, our goal is to provide a safe environment where our clients feel supported.

They say all good things must come to an end...

We are sad it's our last day with our UALR interns, but excited about their future! Congratulations Tia and Brittney on graduating with your Master's in Social Work!!!

They have provided so many people with free counseling that otherwise would be unable to afford it. We are so thankful for our experience with them!
