Kenobi’s favorite place was being here with his patients at Phoenix.
Goodbye, My Sweet Kenobi
Everywhere I look, I see you.
The couches that camouflaged you so perfectly. The top of the stairs you would sail off of when you heard the fridge crack open. The garbage you’d break into with such determination. The beds you’d race to, always beating your brother. The floors you’d punish if things didn’t go your way—so stubborn, so you. The window where your nose left smudges—your little snot designs—as you waited for us to come home.
I hear you too: The clickity-clack of your nails on the wood floor when you jumped off the bed for your morning treat.The growl you’d let out if Dad dared try to move you from your favorite spot beside me. The tug-of-war battles with your brother, but only when you were in the mood.
Through it all—you were there.
A warm, cuddly body to hold. An outstretched paw to grab when I was scared, alone, or unsure. You were my best friend. Always listening, always watching me with those soulful eyes that told me everything was going to be okay.
You had Jedi magic in those eyes—I swear you used your mind tricks to get what you wanted more times than I can count.
Looking around now, I see your domain. I think you had a beautiful life here with us. Thank you for being such a special part of our family, for touching so many hearts.
I used to joke that you thought you were a therapy dog, but the truth is—you really were. No training, just instinct. You were the best at that job. From greeting every person at the door to silently comforting someone in need—you just knew.
Thank you, my sweet boy. Thank you for holding me together when the world tried to break me. I will always remember you— Your soft fur. Your gentle love. Your patience. Your moon-dances in the office. Your cuddles. Your loyalty.
You never let me down.
I hope I will always see you everywhere, because you deserve to be remembered always and forever. You were such a great and special boy.
We miss you deeply.
