Whether you’re dealing with physical pain, emotional stress, or seeking overall balance, acupuncture offers a path to a healthier, more harmonious life.

Acupuncture helps to alleviate physical ailments, improve circulation, reduce inflammation, and support the body's innate ability to heal itself.

It supports mental health by calming the mind, regulating the nervous system, and releasing endorphins, which reduces stress and enhances mental clarity. Spiritually, acupuncture helps reconnect with your inner self, fostering a sense of purpose and alignment.

Each session brings noticeable changes. Reflect on how you feel, adopt improved habits like better posture and sleep, and incorporate supportive practices such as gentle exercise, healthy eating, and stress-relief activities like meditation or journaling.

Small, daily changes, combined with regular acupuncture, lead to significant health improvements over time.

Trying to conceive can be one of the most emotionally and physically demanding journeys—whether you're just starting out or navigating complex fertility challenges.

I offer a deeply supportive and time-tested approach rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM): combining acupuncture and moxibustion to restore balance, regulate cycles, and nourish the body for conception.

✨ Here’s how it helps:
🩸 Acupuncture improves blood flow to the reproductive organs, regulates hormones, reduces stress, and supports healthy ovulation and implantation.

🔥 Moxibustion, a gentle heat therapy using mugwort (Ai Ye), is especially beneficial for:
• Warming the uterus and improving uterine lining
• Enhancing Qi and blood circulation in the reproductive area
• Reducing cold or stagnation patterns that may block conception
• Supporting implantation and early pregnancy

Together, these therapies create optimal conditions for conception—physically, emotionally, and energetically. Whether you're trying to conceive naturally or undergoing IUI/IVF, this holistic support can make a powerful difference.

🌿 Every woman’s path is unique, and I meet you exactly where you are—with compassion, clarity, and care.

If you're ready to explore a gentler, more connected approach to fertility, book your appointment today via the link in bio. You don’t have to do this alone.

Looking for a powerful, non-invasive boost to your healing or skincare routine? Celluma Light Therapy is a clinically proven treatment that uses LED light (blue, red, and near-infrared wavelengths) to support cellular regeneration and reduce inflammation—making it the perfect complement to your acupuncture sessions. 🌿

🔬 How it works:
Celluma’s low-level light therapy (LLLT) penetrates deep into the tissue to stimulate ATP production, the energy your cells need to repair and renew. Whether you're addressing pain, acne, wrinkles, or sluggish healing, light therapy gently encourages your body to do what it does best: heal itself.

🌟 Pairing with acupuncture enhances the benefits:
• For skin health + facial acupuncture: Boosts collagen, smooths fine lines, reduces acne + inflammation
• For pain or inflammation: Soothes muscles and joints, supports tissue repair, and enhances circulation
• For overall wellness: Encourages relaxation, improves mood, and supports immune and cellular function

✨ The result? Deeper healing, glowing skin, and a calm nervous system—all in one integrative treatment session.

I love incorporating Celluma into both facial rejuvenation and body acupuncture treatments for maximum therapeutic effect and a truly holistic experience.

As summer’s bright energy begins to soften and we slowly transition into late summer and early autumn, Traditional Chinese Medicine invites us to shift with the season—not resist it.

☀️ Summer is expansive, expressive, outward. But now, nature gently calls us inward again.

🌾 This time of year is associated with the Earth element—a season of grounding, centering, and nourishment. It’s an opportunity to reconnect with what sustains us at a deeper level—both physically and emotionally.

Here’s how to embrace this seasonal shift with mindfulness:

🌼 Practice Gratitude
Summer often brings fast movement—travel, socializing, outward energy. Take a moment to honor what this season has given you. What experiences brought joy? What have you learned or grown through?

📝 Reflect + Reorient
As energy begins to wane, so does the need to "push." Make space for self-reflection:
— What feels heavy or out of alignment?
— What needs more care or attention?
— What is ready to be released before fall begins?

🌙 Slow Down to Ground
Late summer is the perfect time to return to slower, stabilizing rhythms—nourishing meals, quiet evenings, time in nature, and inner work. Let yourself rest, without guilt. Slowness is not a weakness—it’s seasonal wisdom.

💛 Mindset Matters
Remember: the way you move through transitions sets the tone for what comes next. When we choose gratitude over grasping, reflection over rushing, and grounding over distraction, we align ourselves with nature’s rhythm—and healing naturally follows.

Let this be a gentle reminder:
You don’t have to carry summer’s intensity with you.
You’re allowed to soften, center, and settle in.

Hi! For those who don't know me, my name is Dr. Yael Markowicz. My backstory is definitely an interesting one. I graduated from Stony Brook University in 2001, and then immediately moved to Cremona, Italy, joining my father to study and become a violin maker. During my 8 years in Italy, I was introduced to yoga, meditation, shiatsu, tai chi, and homeopathic medicine. Wellness became one of my passions.

In 2008, I realized that my passion for violin making didn't measure up to my peers, and despite having a famous violin maker as a dad, who was willing to give me all of his knowledge on a silver platter--literally a dream for any student--I was more interested in Eastern philosophy as well as holistic medicine. In 2009, I made the biggest and hardest decision of my life and returned to New York to embark in a whole new life and career in Chinese Medicine. For the first time, I was top of my class and felt like I was finally living my life's purpose.

While in school I became a massage therapist, yoga teacher, and doula. About a year after starting my own practice, I met my husband and quickly after we got married and started a family. During that time, I also completed my doctorate.

Everything I had ever dreamed of was coming true. I've been in private practice for 12 years and I have never felt like my work was a "job". Everyday I feel like I am fulfilling my life's purpose, and I am so grateful to be able to help people regain their health and improve their life.

If you’ve ever wanted the skin-smoothing, lifting effects of Botox—but in a way that feels more aligned with your body, values, and natural rhythms—facial acupuncture may be your answer.

I offer holistic facial rejuvenation treatments rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine—and my patients are often amazed by how powerful (and gentle) the results are.

Here’s how facial acupuncture works as a natural alternative to Botox:

💆‍♀️ Stimulates collagen and elastin production: Tiny, hair-thin needles are inserted into specific facial points, signaling your body to activate its own repair processes—plumping fine lines, firming sagging skin, and enhancing elasticity over time.

🌿 Relaxes tension in facial muscles: Rather than paralyzing muscles (like Botox), facial acupuncture helps release chronic tension patterns—particularly in the forehead, jaw, and between the brows—promoting a softer, more open appearance while maintaining your natural expressions.

💧 Improves circulation + skin tone: Facial acupuncture enhances blood and lymph flow to the skin, bringing more nutrients and oxygen while flushing stagnation. The result? A brighter, more radiant complexion—from the inside out.

✨ Whole-body effects: Unlike Botox, which focuses only on the surface, facial acupuncture addresses the root causes of aging, including stress, digestion, hormonal imbalances, and sleep—all of which show up on the skin. You leave glowing and grounded.

Patients love that results are gradual, cumulative, and completely natural—no freezing, no numbing, just you looking and feeling your most refreshed, radiant self.

There’s something sacred that happens when women come together—in honesty, vulnerability, and strength. 💛

I believe healing doesn’t happen in isolation. It thrives in community. In spaces where women feel seen, heard, and supported. Where we lift each other up, share wisdom, and remind one another: you are not alone in your journey.

🌿 Whether you’re navigating fertility, chronic illness, motherhood, burnout, or simply trying to reconnect with yourself—know that your story matters. And there’s space for all of it here.

Together, we grow.
Together, we heal.
Together, we rise.

Let’s continue to build a community rooted in compassion, empowerment, and whole-body wellness. Because when one of us heals, we all do.

Tag a woman who supports and inspires you. 💫

We live in a world that glorifies doing—checking off the to-do list, staying “on,” pushing through. But in both Traditional Chinese Medicine and nature itself, true balance is found in cycles: action and stillness, activity and rest, effort and ease.

🌿 Rest is not the opposite of productivity.
It’s the soil from which sustainable energy, creativity, and clarity grow.

In TCM, rest is essential to replenishing yin energy—the cooling, grounding, nourishing force that balances our outward, active yang nature. Without enough yin, we burn out. We become anxious, depleted, uncentered.

✨ So the next time you feel guilt creeping in when you pause or need a break, remember:
— Rest restores the nervous system.
— Rest regulates the heart and spirit (Shen).
— Rest strengthens digestion, sleep, hormones—your whole being.
— Rest makes space for insight, alignment, and healing.

Rest is not weak. It’s wise.
It’s a sacred act of self-respect.
It’s a quiet kind of productivity that builds resilience for everything else.

So today, ask yourself:
🌼 What does rest look like for me right now?
🌙 What kind of rest does my body, heart, and mind truly need?

And then—gift it to yourself, without apology. You are worthy of slowing down. You are worthy of softening. You are worthy of rest.

Hormonal imbalances can leave women feeling like strangers in their own bodies—fatigued, inflamed, in pain, or emotionally overwhelmed. Whether it’s PMS, PCOS, or endometriosis, these experiences are more than just monthly inconveniences—they’re signals from the body asking for deeper support.

🌿 Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) views the menstrual cycle as a vital reflection of a woman’s overall health. When Qi (energy) and Blood flow freely and in harmony, the cycle is balanced and symptom-free.

✨ Acupuncture offers a powerful, natural way to regulate hormones and restore internal balance—without masking symptoms.

Here’s how it helps:
🌙 PMS: Acupuncture can ease irritability, mood swings, breast tenderness, fatigue, and cramping by harmonizing the Liver and moving stuck Qi—common culprits behind emotional and physical PMS symptoms.

🌺 PCOS: By improving insulin sensitivity, reducing inflammation, and stimulating ovulation, acupuncture supports hormone regulation and can help restore more regular cycles.

🌼 Endometriosis: Acupuncture helps reduce pain, support immune function, and minimize the inflammatory response that drives endometrial tissue growth.

💛 Most importantly, acupuncture reconnects women to their cycles with compassion and clarity—not fear, frustration, or dread. Through consistent care, women often report more regular cycles, less pain, improved mood, and a sense of coming home to their bodies.

Your cycle is not something to fix or fight—it's something to understand, support, and honor.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), late summer—the transitional time between high summer and autumn—is governed by the Earth element, and its associated organs: the Spleen and Stomach.

This is the time to slow down, center yourself, and deeply nourish your digestive system, which supports not just physical health, but mental clarity and emotional stability as well.

☀️ During late summer, nature is at its peak abundance. It’s a beautiful opportunity to eat seasonal foods that are grounding, slightly sweet, and easy to digest. TCM recommends shifting toward:
🍠 Warm, cooked meals over cold or raw foods—think soups, congee, roasted root vegetables, steamed greens
🌿 Mildly sweet vegetables like carrots, squash, sweet potatoes, and yams
🫖 Warming spices like ginger, cinnamon, and cardamom to support digestive fire

Why warm and cooked?
The Spleen and Stomach are considered the center of our digestive system—and in TCM, cold or raw foods are thought to “dampen” their function, especially if we’re already feeling fatigued, bloated, or ungrounded.

✨ When the Spleen and Stomach are nourished, we feel:
— Energized, not heavy after meals
— Emotionally steady and mentally clear
— Grounded, focused, and supported from within

Let this season be your invitation to nurture your center—not just with food, but with restorative routines, emotional calm, and intentional nourishment.

📆 Need support with digestive imbalances, fatigue, or feeling ungrounded? Acupuncture and herbal medicine can help strengthen your Earth element and restore balance.
